The week had passed by very fast as the day of the Final Selection was here. You three had decided to wake up early to get ready and be prepared with all the necessities you would need for the exam. You put on your training outfit, which consisted of black pants, a white sleeveless tank top, and black high boots. For the last piece of your clothing you grabbed the haori your family had given you and put it on. Just as you were about to walk out of the room, but you felt something in your pant pocket . You reached your hands into your pocket to find a hair pin, wrapped around a handkerchief. It was the hair pin that Sanemi had given you long ago. You looked at the hair pin and smiled to yourself wondering wondering if Sanemi was doing ok. You knew it was silly to be thinking of a boy you've only meet once, but some how you couldn't get yourself to let go.

You sighed, wrapping the hair pin back into the handkerchief and placed it on top of the dresser. You walked out of the room to see Giyu, Sabito, and Urokodaki all waiting for you. Urokodaki motioned for you to come over, you nodded and came over standing in between the two boys. Urokodaki walked over to one of the shelfs in the corner and took out three kitsune masks; one for each of you. He passes each one of you a mask of your own, once everyone had recieved theirs you noticed each mask was individualized for the wearer. Sabito's masks had a scar in the same place he had, Giyu's had blue eyes with red eyeshadow, while yours had blue snowflakes almost resembling flowers. You ran your fingers over your mask, admiring the work that Urokodaki did for all three of you.

"These masks are to protect you three, i've imbedded a protective spell on each one to get you out of harms way. Since you three are each my beloved students and children", Urokodaki smiled behind his mask.

You rushed over to Urokodaki and gave him a giant hug, "Thank you so much Urokodaki-otosan, I'll make sure to pass the Final Selection and be back soon." You turned your head over grinning, "Isn't that right boys?"

Sabito grinned while giving a thumbs up, "Of course! We'll be back in no time!"

Giyu wrapped his arm around Sabito's neck, "We have each other, of course we'll pass."

You gave Urokodaki one last hug to say goodbye and made your way to the front door, "Off we go! We will back as soon as we can!"

All three of you waved goodbye to Urokodaki, Sabito lead the way down the dirt path, while you and Giyu trailed behind him. A few hours passed and you three finally made it to the entrance of the Final Selection, it was covered in beautiful Wisteria trees leading all the way up the staircase.

You stopped and stared at the trees admiring them, "Wow, it's so beautiful here".

"Well, while you are busy staring at the trees, Giyu and I will meet you up ahead!", Sabito started to run forward towards the stairs pulling Giyu along with him up the stairs.

"Hey! Wait for me!", you yelled towards the two boys. Just as you were about to follow them you felt a shoulder push past your shoulder, forcing you harshly to move to the side.

You glared at the person who so rudely pushed you, "Excuse me, but what the hell is your problem, you could at-", you stopped mid sentence as you notiticed the person infront of you.  White spikey hair.

"Is that....no no it couldn't be him, it can't be Sanemi. Stop imagining every white haired person is him", you argued with yourself.

The white haired boy turned around with a snarl forming on his lips, "You weren't listening to move, so I made you now get outta my way."

You breathe hitched, there was no mistaking it, this boy in front of you was in fact the boy you've been searching for: Sanemi. His same violet eyes, the wild white spikey hair, but he wasn't the same Sanemi you remembered. This boy in front of you had multiple scars on his face and arms, his the personality was far more aggressive too. You couldn't believe it, after years of searching he was right in front of you.

You tried to say something back, but the words wouldn't form in your mouth correctly, "Excuse me, but are you....", you couldn't finish your sentence as you noticed the more you kept trying to talk the angrier he got by each second that passed.

"Don't waste my time, I'm only here for one thing and that is the Final Selection", he roughly said as he turned around and made his way up the stairs.

You stood there as if time had stopped. This was not the Sanemi you remembered, this wasn't the boy who had saved you in town nor who gave you the hair pin. This wasn't right, this wasn't how your meeting was supposed to go after waiting for so long to see his face again. You hugged yourself and took a deep breathe.

"Hold yourself together (Y/N), we got this", you muttered to yourself. You took one last deep breathe and made your way up the stairs. Once you reached the top of the stairs you saw Sabito waving over to you to come over next to them. You went over and stood next to Giyu with your head hanging down.

Giyu instantly took notice of this and looked at you, "(Y/N) what's wrong? You were ready just a second ago?"

You shook your head, "It's just nerves, don't worry about it." Giyu frowned at your answer, but decided not push it.

You took a peak from your side view to see Sanemi staring straight ahead with an angry expression. He must of felt you staring because when you thought you were safe he looked over to you with an even more aggressive face than you saw earlier. You turned you head around after being caught and decided it was better to just stare straight ahead.

"Welcome everyone", a voice came out from the wisteria trees.

You looked over to see a beautiful young women standing in front. She wore a beautiful pink Kimono with a dark blue haori over the top of her kimono. The most mesmerizing thing about her were her eyes if you were to stare for too long your would drown in them.

She bowed, "I welcome you to the Final Selection, for this selection will decide if you will become a Demon Slayer. My name is Amane Ubuyashiki and I am the protocter for this exam."

Everyone bowed to her as she continued," For this exam you will be in this very forest up ahead full of demons, the goal is to survive for 7 days. If you accomplish this you will pass the test, but be warned we have had a few that never come back from this exam so be careful."

You shuddered, you couldn't imagine not coming back alive. To say you were scared was an understatement you were absolutely terrified. The thoughts of the demon that killed your family flashed through your head. You started to panic, you breathe quickened as you stared down at the floor. You couldn't do this....there was absolutely no way, just as your were to panic more you felt a pair of hands grip on to both of your hands. You looked up to see Giyu and Sabito hands took each one of your hands into their own. They both gave your hand a gentle squeeze as to remind you that they were weren't alone.

How could you forget, you've been with these boys over the years there was no need to panic. You promised each other that you would protect each other and not let anything bad happen.

"I'm sorry", you whispered to them, "I'm ok now."

The two boys smiled at you and went back to focus on the proctors instructions. As she finished she wished everyone luck and step to the side unblocking the entrance to the forest. One by one people starting entering the forest, until it was only you three and Sanemi.

Sanemi looked over to you three and made sure to look at you directly, "Stay out of my way, if you know what's good for you." He made his way into the forest, disappearing from your view.

Sabito frowned, "What's up with that dude's attitude".

You shook your head, "It's ok we got more things to worry about. We have to pass this exam. Are you boys ready?", you looked towards the two boys.

Giyu and Sabito both nodded.

You smiled, "Alright! Let's finally achieve our goal of becoming demon slayers!" You lead the way into the forest with Sabito and Giyu following right behind.
