It has been over a year since you've last seen you've last seen Sanemi and Giyu, with the exception of Shinobu. 

A week after leaving the mission you had meet up with Shinobu and apologized to her about leaving. You then explained the situation to her about Giyu confessing to you and your conflicting emotions about Sanemi. Shinobu tried her best to comfort you, but to no avail.

You explained to her that you didn't know how to react to Giyu's sudden confession, you knew that you cared for him deeply but you also knew you couldn't have a relationship with him if you still had feelings for Sanemi. On the other hand Sanemi would often frustrate you and other times he would be so caring about you. Then there was the underlying issue....he had Kanae as his girlfriend and you couldn't do anything about that.

You had decided to give yourself some space from the two boys and continue growing as a demon slayer hunter. There would be times that you would go visit Urokodaki and some how miss Giyu by a few days. You went to explain to Urokodaki who was your father figure, about the situation to which he smiled softly and rested his hand on the top of your head.

"You'll make the correct choice soon enough."

You pouted at his response and shrugged your shoulders accepting his words.

Now we are here in present time where you just finished off your recent mission in a far off remote village. 

KAAAAH!! KAHHH!

Your head rotated up to the sky to see your crow Hoshi coming towards you. You straightened out your arm to let Hoshi land on safetly and grabbed the note tucked in his beak. 

You smiled and gave Hoshi some seeds that you often save for him. 

"Thank you Hoshi, travel safe", you raised your arm to help Hoshi take off back home.

You unraveled the note and your eyes widened at the message that was written.

Dear (Y/N),

I hope this letter find you well. I would like to formerly invite you to the next hashira meeting to be help at the Ubuyashiki mansion for your promotion to become the next hashira.

Looking forward to see you again.

Kaguya Ubuyashiki

"Oh no....this can't be happening", you thought to yourself.

You held your head in frustration, you knew what this meant. Not only would you have to see Giyu again, but also Sanemi and Kanae. It wasn't that you were excited for the oppurtunity to become a Hashira it was just that you knew you had no say now about the missions you would have to take with the fellow Hashira, including the two boys.

You sighed accepting your soon to be fate and started to make your way to the Ubuyashiki mansion.

Few days later

"Finally made it!", you said to yourself proudly. 

You had just made it to the Ubuyashiki mansion when a flash of a sparkly headband caught your eyes from your side.

You smiled and waved excitedly, "Uzui-san!!"

Uzui turned around to see you waving at him which caused him to give you a flashy smile.

"Well if it isn't my beautiful (Y/N)! What is with the politeness?? C'mere and give me a flashy hug!"

You grinned and ran up to him to give him the biggest hug you could give him. To which he returned with the same eagerness.

"Well? Have you considered becoming my 4th wife yet? I've left the opening open just for you," Uzui winked at you.

You laughed off his comment and waved him off, "Yea still clearly not interested."

Uzui pouts, "Well it will always be open for you my Flashy snowflake!"

You both laugh at his comment and Uzui continues the conversation.

"By the way congrats on the promotion to Hashira, I always knew you would become one."

You nodded and smiled, "I tried my best."

As you two were continuing your conversation, you both hear a sound behind you.

Ahem

You turned around to see him standing there. Long black silky hair, two-toned haori and his piercing blue eyes, there was no mistaking it. The heat was rising to your face making your cheeks turn a light pink color.

Ah! you tried to turn your face so Giyu couldn't see your face turning 20 shades of pink, but of course Uzui saw this immediately and grinned knowing exactly what was going on.

Uzui walked past by you and Giyu and waved goodbye, "I'll leave you two some privacy, goodbye lovebirds!"

"UZUI!", you sneered at him as he left you alone with Giyu.

You turned your attention back to Giyu when you felt stare on you. Your (e/c) eyes meet his endless blue ones and you smiled nervously.

"H-Hey....long time no see huh?", you mustered to say.

Giyu crossed his arms and replied coldly, "Would have been shorter had you not tried to go out of your way to avoid me constantly."

You shivered at his cold comment, "Heh....yeah....sorry about that..."

Giyu sighed and released his arms to the sides of his body and pulled you into a hug suddenly. This took you off guard, but gladly accepted his warm hug.

Giyu's lips moved over to your ear and gently whispered, "I missed you...after you left I tried to find you but you disappeared....I know the last time we saw eachother I said something....but just know i'm willing to wait for your answ-"

Giyu got cut off by a loud scream, "HEY IF YOU TWO DUMBASSES ARE DONE WE GOT A MEETING TO ATTEND TO!"

You released yourself to see the owner of the voice and your heart dropped, it was Sanemi with his teeth grinding together with Kanae in the background smiling and waving towards you.

"(Y/N)-san! Oh my you've grown since i've last seen you!", Kanae commented on your appearance.

Your eyes drifted on to your appearance and you hadn't notice how much you have changed in the past year. Your hair had grown longer and you had grown at least 2 cm taller, guess you hadn't noticed.

You smiled gently at Kanae, "You as well Kanae-san."

Giyu noticing your discomfort came up behind you and lightly placed his hand on your shoulder, "We should all start to get going, the meetings about to start."

"Ah where are my manners! Yes let's go, we can not miss (Y/N) promotion now can we!", Kanae said giggling softly.

Kanae lead the way with Sanemi following right behind her, his head turned ever so softly for his sharp purple eyes to meet yours. You couldn't help but notice that his eyes showed a bit of a concern, but that soon disappeared as soon as he turned away.

You shook your head you were probably just imagining that....theres no way that Sanemi was actually concerned about you, especially after the fight you had with him when you last saw him.

Giyu snapped you out of your thoughts when his hand gently touched your cheek. Your face instantly turned pink at his action and you step backed.

"Y-Yes! Let's go! We are the last ones!", you practically yelled while leading the way, with Giyu following right behind.

You shook your head...you knew that having these feelings for Sanemi had to stop....he had a girlfriends for crying out loud and they were still together! On the other hand, Giyu was willing to wait for you to reciprocate his feelings....You knew he deserved an answer soon. 

With your mind made up you knew you would give Giyu his answer as soon as the Hashira meeting was over. With your new found confidence you went into the meeting with your head held up high ready for the meeting.
