Enzo Silva, Leader of the New Dawn
One of the troops salutes and places pictures down on the table, "There were no survivors. All the troops that went in were found incinerated alongside all the information uncovered by US intelligence services"

"I underestimated the ability of the CIA to keep information out of enemy hands. It's impressive the lengths they'll go through to maintain a level of secrecy", never in my entire life would I think to see someone blow up an entire headquarters to keep information out of our hands, "Well there's nothing to worry about. It's far too late for our plan to be stopped now. When they realize we threw them off, they'll be powerless to stop our attack".

The soldier looks confused, "Sir? Are we not going with our original plan?"

"No. It seems we have a benefactor supporting us so I thought why not shoot higher. Somewhere where we're bound to be noticed", I turn towards the soldier, "Tell me, have you ever visited Paris before?"

Abraham Villarreal/Azrael
"Marie we need some pastries here ASAP!"

Marie runs into the kitchen as Hana puts more order slips on the table, "Here you go".

"I barely got two orders out and now there's four more?"

Hana smiles, "That's business for you".

"Very well, I'll get the drinks started right away". There's never a quiet day here at the coffee shop, most of the team is working on learning basic magic skills from Grealish, and Milo is working on our next big mission. Things are looking up and really nothing seems to be out of turn, the door opens and a lady wearing sunglasses walks in and heads towards the register, "Good afternoon ma'am what can I get for you today?"

The woman takes off her sunglasses and grips them tightly, "A-Are you Abraham?"

Looking at her it's not difficult to remember who she is. Paul had shown me pictures of her before alongside many such places where they would go on vacation, her eyes are red as if she's been crying for hours now. "Carla? What are you doing here? Are you okay?"

She shakes her head, "Can you meet me at the place you and Paul would always meet?"

"Of course. Carla what happened?"

Carla just shakes her head and walks away, leaving me with a senses of worry yet I think I know what's going on. I don't want to assume that's the case but perhaps in his line of work it was always a possibility. The rest of my work shift is filled with blank stares and monotonous conversation much to the dismay of Hana and Marie, the clock rings and I walk out of the coffee shop in a hurry and start running towards the memorial. There's not many people there and the bench we used to sit on is occupied by Carla staring across the fountain, there's not much to say as I sit next to her and stare at the fountain, "He's gone isn't he?"

She looks down as tears fall on her face, "H-He...I told him that he shouldn't have gone...I told him he should've taken the desk job...", she looks at me and grabs my hand, "You know he told me about you". My eyes widen as she continues to cry, "You know why he continued to work as a field agent?", she looks down, "He said that...he said...he said that the Syndicate took away his friends and that seeing you reminded him of your father. He said he wouldn't allow you to walk alone and that just as he helped your father, he would help you".

There's no feeling of mourning, it scares me and I always thought this was a possibility. We would joke about it sometimes but there would always be a serious moment in which we would consider our own mortality. I can't say whether I'm trying to put on a brave face or whether I still can't accept the fact that the last couple of anchors keeping me down are slowly breaking apart.
