Chapter 21 - Unfinished Business

"Has anyone found any intel regarding the whereabouts of any leaders of the three remaining crime families?"

Sergio sighs out, "As much as we've tried pressing those that surrender. Most of them refuse to talk and there's really only so much you can do before well".

"No need to go into detail Sergio. Anyone else have anything?"

Ada raises her hand, "We were sent to investigate all the local recreation areas of Scott's gang and we managed to find an interesting bit of information". Ada motions to Milo who brings up a picture of a woman, "This is Scott's current fling. They've been meeting up lately but they've been careful of being spotted due to well our whole mission of complete extermination".

Eve continues, "We followed her to a hotel parking lot where she's taken on another car to an undisclosed location. We couldn't follow without risking a blow to our cover. She's the best chance we have of finding Scott and taking him down for good".

"Very well, I'll leave it up to the both of you to question her. Take Miguel and Sergio with you just in case she's under armed guard". The four of them get up and take off towards their mission leaving behind the rest to continue on in the meeting.

Milo looks on, "Next on the agenda is talking about the Trailblazers".

"Don't they fall more under the supervision of the Phantom Strikers rather than us?"

Milo skews his lip, "Technically they should but they've been absorbing more territory lately. Taking them down could get us closer to King Trinity".

"I'd rather not interfere with the Phantom Strikers now. The whole city at this point has declared us unlawful and a pestilence thanks to our new friend Jace. The more we keep his goons off our back, the better".

Milo nods, "Very well, now up next is...regarding Grealish's absence".

"He'll come back after he's acquired what he sought out. We should be fine as of now, at this point we can match the power of the remaining Wild Cards".

Milo sighs out, "Alright that should be everything".

"Thank you all for being here. Take some rest or train, whatever information comes in, we'll act on it and prepare for our next mission". Everyone leaves as I'm left at the table, maybe I should've asked Khurram about my mother but doing so would've given him a clue in regards to my identity or perhaps I should've told him and then taken him out there and then but that would've risked the Phantom Strikers coming after me in full force. They have the potential to become a problem but, for now I'll just wait and see what happens, "It's not like they're ever going to step foot in the Outskirts and if they do...", we'll figure it out from there.

The beeping of the vital signs monitor, the hiss of the breathing mask, and the lights of the hospital immediately overwhelm my senses as I open my eyes and my vision adjust slowly. How many days has it been? It all comes back suddenly as the last thing I remember was staring into the eyes of my brother's dead body all while Mysterious Executioner walked away, leaving me to bleed out as I collapsed from shock. I move my right arm, the mechanical clicks are heard as I look to see the prosthetic arm and on top is a hand and to the right is Lucy as she sits with her eyes closed. "L-Lucy?"

She stirs for a bit before rubbing her eyes and yawing, "Yeah?". She freezes and shakes her head as she looks at me, "Emile!", she throws her arms around me, "You're awake!"

I flinch in pain, "Good to see you too".

She stops squeezing me as May enters the room and drops her food tray, "You're awake?!"
