Alpha City, 10 Days Later
The restaurant bustles with activity as I sit in one of the outside tables, a girl sits in the front as she stares at me, "Did you change your mind about seeking us out?""No I just wanted to check up on both of you but it seems only you decided to show up".
Diamond scoffs, "As if I was going to let my sister come with me knowing the risks we run by meeting with you. Now what is it you want?"
Her eyes look tired, her expression somber as she stares directly into my eyes as I clear my throat, "You're pregnant aren't you?"
Diamond's eyes widen as she looks away, "How did you find out?"
"I don't know. Your energy output, it flowed in two directions and I feel I have no need to tell you where".
Diamond sighs out and looks at a family sitting near a booth inside, "You know our plan was to buy a ranch far away from the city where no one would look for us. That's what we planned to do with the money we received. All of us we're going to live together and well...", she looks down at the ring in her finger, "Ace and I were going to settle down and maybe start a family".
The breeze is cool a signal of the commencement of a new fall season, we both stare into the distance, "I didn't know"
Diamond shakes her head, "We didn't know what you were capable of either. It's only after Clubs was killed that we began to think that maybe our time together would be cut short."
"I have nothing to excuse myself", I push a phone near her, "All I can offer you is my help in anything that you, Hearts, and your child may need".
Diamond picks it up and places it inside her pocket, "I appreciate it but, we'll be just fine."
She begins to walk away leaving me to sit at the table, the check arrives as I place money and the table and depart. The walk towards the the coffee shop is quite a distance but I need some time to myself, I can't really blame myself for reacting the way I did. They supported the people that killed Hana all in an attempt to..."Kill me", each of these thoughts pound against my head as I enter the coffee shop and close the door behind me before stumbling up the stairs and collapsing in the hallway. The realization sets in little by little, it's because of my stubbornness in catching my parents killer that I began to attack the Five Families, this led them to hire the Wild Cards who in their attempts to stop me sided with terrorists to lure me out, and my inability to stop them in time led to Hana's death. I never really cried when Hana died, all that I felt was a fiery rage welling inside me and until now I'm only realizing how much I've really pushed deep down. The memories all coming back in a flood, simple times that we shared in the shop and around the city, all I can do is sit against the wall and cry as the bustling of the city quiets down.
The hours pass by as I stare at the picture we took back at AC Fest, maybe it'd be best for all if I hung up everything and lived the rest of my life in peace. I clench my fist as I think about Hana and Diamond, "No...If I give up, I'd be falling right into what the world expects of me." My fight isn't for myself anymore, it's to create a new world in which people like Diamond and Hana can live in peace without worrying about any dangers surrounding them. I said I'd keep treading on this path, nothing will stop me until I reach that world that I have envisioned for all.
The Outskirts, 2 Months Later
Quite a lot has happened since the takedown of the Five Families, it seems the Phantom Strikers had a falling out and that Shadowblade is apparently inactive according to the latest rumors published by the Trailblazers. Their reports should be taken with a grain of salt but I'd be lying if this didn't please me in the slightest, the biggest of my rivals is out of the picture. Criminal activity has increased and once in a while we find ourselves fighting three Trailblazers or being chased by the Directorate's forces who've ramped up their takeover of the Outskirts, this of course being approved by Captain Ibrahim and the City Council.
