Chapter 3
Unlike when his mother transported Caleb, it was as if someone was ripping the limbs off his body and putting him back together. There was a spinning motion involved as well that made him feel like he was on some sort of amusement park ride. As fast as it was, it ended a lot quicker, causing Caleb to collapse in a dark hallway completely disoriented, then he was sick.
Eli sighed, "I thought I had told you not to do that?"
"Well sorry you didn't necessarily make it easy for me," he said as he tried to get up, but then collapsed as he got sick again. "Why was it easier when my mom did it, are you not as good as she is or something."
"Well for one, Eleanor is a siren her magic style is more suited for transportation magic. Secondly, she transported you maybe a mile, I did much more than that. So if you wouldn't mind showing me little respect it would be much appreciated," he started to walk away.
"Where are you going?" Caleb was finally able to stand.
"To the interview, we're up next."
"Wait an interview? I thought that I was supposed to be learning how to cast spells," Caleb said finally catching up.
"Yeah and I bet you thought you also were going to get a wand and have to wear a black cloak too? Well let me tell you that J. K. Token never went to the world of magic, I mean come on abracadabra will not kill people."
"Please don't tell me you're serious, because there are so many things wrong with what you had just said."
Eli stopped where he was and pushed Caleb up against the wall, "Do you think that this is some sort of game? Because I am here to tell you that this is not nor will it ever be Hogwarts."
Caleb shoved him off, "Ok I get it."
"Do you really?" Eli was furious, "Do you understand that everything that you do for the duration of your Disposition Ceremony effects you when it comes time for the Auction?"
"Wait how do know that I want to sell my magic in the first place? Maybe I want to keep it." Caleb folded his arms
"Because you would be a fool to not sell it."
Eli started to walk away from Caleb. "Says who? I consider magic to be fantastic, think of all the people you could say with it."
Eli turned around; "All magic has its price. Look at me, if I had known what I was going to become when my Auction came around, I would have given it all up."
"And why is that, because you're a soulless shell?"
Eli became close to Caleb. "Because love is the one thing that magic will never be able to provide you with, and trust me when I say that I wish I had followed my love."
"And why didn't you?"
"Because I too thought that there could be a lot done for the greater good with magic, but nothing good comes with magic."
Caleb was silent as he followed Eli down the hall. He knew what magic did, he'd seen it with his own two eyes. He couldn't understand what was so bad about magic. Whatever happened to Eli, left him with so many questions, who did he leave behind, how many were there, and most importantly who was his love? Eli opened up his heart to Caleb and yet he wasn't listening, he thought he knew everything, but now He felt like he knew nothing. They stopped at a door, "Where are we going?"
"This door is an exit to a very popular talk show in the magic community."
"Really, all this for a talk show?"
