Cas opened the door to his room. On one side was a mess of random pages of what looked like sheet music, but on his side was a just bed and a trunk at the end. "This was the only bed left," Rachel said. "Unfortunately you weren't available for the selection."

"It's actually not that bad," Cas opened the trunk. Inside was a white bag with a downward triangle printed on it. As he lifted it out the bag turned green as a white tree formed inside the triangle.

"That is the best bag that you will ever have." She pulled the blue drawstring bag off of her own back. "They have everything that you will need, at least for the next two weeks."

"Yeah about that." Cas said looking at the schedule he pulled from his pack. "Is there any way I could get these classes changed?"

Rachel took the paper, "Oh this isn't a revise schedule." As she swiped the page the scrawl changed. "The academic planner noticed that the courses you selected weren't very inscribe oriented, so they changed them around for you."

Cas let out a sigh of relief, "For a minute there I thought I would have to actually take some history class."

"Yeah well you still have to take survey of magic so don't be too thrilled. After all it's at six in the morning." Racheal made a face of disgust.

Alistair walked into the room and his face instantly lit up. "No way you're my new roommate." Cas looked at Racheal as Alistair slapped, "Alistair."

"Al," he interjected. "You know that I don't like Alistair. It's way to formal, sis."

She looked at him slightly annoyed, "Just make sure that you don't drive this one crazy with your music."

"I didn't do that! I haven't even looked at an attack book."

"Whatever, father will not hear of another incident." Rachel slammed the door.

"She seems kind of upset," Cas said.

"Yeah she doesn't like letting people know that we're related." Al formed a guitar from a pile of rings on his desks. As he strummed it he said, "She also jealous over the fact that I got the better half of our inheritance."

"Inheritance?" Cas tried to piece the words together but couldn't.

"Both of us were born without an ability." Her played the guitar passively as if it was something to take his mind off of harder times. "So my mother gave away her ability. Unfortunately it didn't split evenly." He seemed kind of said, "I got everything that a wind elemental could have, except tracking. That was given to my sister."

"Sounds rough." Cas couldn't understand why abilities were sought after so much. He had almost died because of his own. To him abilities are more trouble than what they're worth.

"Eh, I try not to think of the bad things in life," Al looked toward the clock. "We might want to go to the dining hall."

Cas suddenly was hungry. He couldn't remember the last time he had eaten. "Sure," he said probably too excited.

"Well at least food is something we can get along about," He said jokingly.

As they walked back down into the corridor Cas observed every single detail more carefully. "Cas can you hear me," Eli said in Cas' mind.

"Yes, what's the emergency?"

"I heard about the incident, involving inscribes."

"It's fine," Cas looked at Alistair. "A guy named Alistair, bringer of songs, helped with the clean-up."

There was a brief pause, "Cas whatever you do stay away from him."

"You're being really quiet," Alistair said over his shoulder. "Keep that up and it'll be hard for me to introduce you to the rest of the crew."

"I have to go," Cas said. As he turned his attention from his mind he thought could hear Eli shout something. "Sorry about that I was just observing the area.

"I'm really impressed," Alistair said, his toes clacking against the stone.

"Impressed about what," Cas' mark began to radiate from its top mark, forming into a white flour.

"Well normally it takes recruits at least until the fall to notice something is up."

Before he could say another word the flooring fell from beneath Cas' feet. The fall seemed endless, there was no light just air as it went through him like a bullet and then out of nowhere he stopped without even the slightest reaction. As three torches lit themselves in white, three lit themselves in black and a cheer was emanating from around him.

"Cas you might want to get off the floor," said Alistair. "This is a test after all." Cas let up from the ground and punched Alistair straight in his jaw. Slowly he turned his head, while drawing a healing rune on his cheek, "Yeah I deserve that."

"Alistair, the binger of songs," a boy wearing white battle armour walked up to the two of them. "Out of everyone you could of picked you chose the worst one in the upcoming class to join The Pilgrimages. Explain your case."

Cas really didn't understand why who ever this guy was said pilgrimage wrong, it was pil-grim-age not pil-gri-mage. "Well," Alistair said. "Cas, binger of light, might be last in his class-"

"Wait, what?" Cas interrupted

"But he possess precognition, plus he hasn't been properly evaluated. The only reason why he's last in class is only because," Alistair paused "well literally the entire class was killed."

The boy rolled his eyes, "Fine, but don't think that we'll go easy on him just because is he's a bringer." He walked over to Cas pushing Alistair aside with a his staff. "Cas, the bringer of light son of the phoenix of the stars, you have been selected to join The Pilgrimages. We are an elite hidden order with clan secrets dating back since the first son of Joshua. Do you accept to be a part of this order?"

Cas took a deep breath, "Do you realise that I just got out of a comma like two hours ago!" He looked directly at Alistair, "How's about next time you ask me before you do something so stupid."

Alistair looked shocked. "Look," said the boy in the white gear. "I understand that you are upset, but no is not the time, do you accept the offer."

Cas rolled his eyes, "sure, whatever can get me to dinner the fastest."

The boy in white looked annoyed as he said, "Then we will recommence in three days' time where you will fight one of us to earn your rightful place as a Pilgrimage." He swung his spear aimlessly. As he plunged it into the ground he looked directly at Alistair, "After all three days seems lie a great amount of time to get a proper evaluation right, binger of songs?"

Alistair looked taken aback, "Yes, um, I couldn't agree more."

"Good," he turned back to Cas, "You will be watched until the very last moment before you battle by every Pilgrimage in the order."

"Anything else," Cas asked.

Three spikes of ice grazed by Cas' arm. "As a matter of fact yes. Do us all a favour and get that seal removed from your chest. It will be no fun to fight someone who isn't to their full potential."

"Okay I think he's had enough," Alistair walked toward Cas.

"Oh I suppose that you are right." He pulled the staff from the ground and pointed the edge at Cas. "Be gone." Suddenly they were whisked away from the room by a gentle flurry of snow.
