This was the first time Cas laid eyes on the cafeteria. Slowly he looked around to see a buffet of food, but to his surprise there was none. "Where's the food?"
Jax grabbed a plate and swirled his hand on top, curry and rice formed. "I'm so excited I love this stuff."
"Of course." He grabbed a plate for his own and a plate of broccoli formed. "What the?"
"You grabbed a veg-only plate." Jax took the plate from Cas' hand and replaced it with his own. "Find us a seat and I'll just dispose of this."
Suddenly Cas felt as if he was back in high school again, he felt a slight nostalgia in the air. It was almost as if he could see Alice sitting at a table by herself waiting for him to join her. That is when he realised it was Alice. Quickly he walked up to the table and sat down.
"Whoever you are beat it," she said aloofly. "I've got no time to deal with flirting or questions about combat. If you want a tutor that go to the academic offices and leave me alone."
"Jeez, Alice you're being rude." He tried to get her to look at her, but she remained cold to him. "You know you could at least look at me"
"My, name is not Alice." She dropped her fork, "I think I've lost my appetite." Without even look at him she left, bumping into his chair as she left.
Jaxs sat down almost as soon as she was gone. "I can see you met Cia. That girl is something else that's for sure."
"What do you mean?"
"She came here with the rest of the second generation kids, but she isn't ecstatic to be here. Just last week she tried to escape." He took a bite of his food, "Unfortunately, they caught her and spell locked her to these grounds. If she even tries to escape she'll be sent straight back to the centre of campus." Jaxs saw a group of his friends and waved them down. "I wouldn't worry about that though."
Before Cas could reply three people, including Bonnie, sat down. "Hey Cas where were you after we escaped the room? Everyone was concerned you got crushed."
"Well, I technically didn't escape I kind of just destroyed the spell in general."
Everyone at the table looked surprised but Jax said, "Now, now calm down I'm pretty sure he doesn't do Q&As."
"Eh," said one boy. "I have my own stuff to worry about anyways. Like Alistair, did you know he chickened out of mountain climbing today? He said, 'heights aren't his thing.' Honestly, the boy who can turn into the wind is afraid of heights!"
"Well he's never been one to commit," Jaxs said. "He's more of a go-with-the-flow guy, very chill."
"Of course that's why you two get along so well," a girl said. Everyone at the table laughed. Suddenly she looked at Cas, "By the way, my money is on three days till you move out and find a new roommate."
"Well I hate to blow it to you, but he's been avoiding me since the first day," Cas said. "Sorry to disappoint."
"Uhg," she rolled her eyes. "I can never turn a profit on that guy."
"You should have learned that the first time that you dated him," said the boy to her left.
She blushed, "that is none of your business."
"Hey guys." They looked up to see Alistair standing beside the table. "What are you talking about?"
"You," Jax said flatly. Cas was slightly taken aback at how honest Jaxs was. "Apparently Ner, over there is crushing quite hard on you still."
