Cas was running down the halls trying to make it to the library. He need the help of his mentor more than ever. Eli would know what to do, he had to. Ripping the door wide open he ran to the front desk.
"I need to speak to Eli, defender of man," he said urgently.
"Do you have a meeting," she said.
"I don't have time for this!" Even as the seconds past he could not calm down. "Let me in I am Cas, the bringer of light and I am requesting, no demanding, you let me through.
"As you wish," she said not arguing.
Running though the passage he opened the door to his mentor's private chambers to see Eli scrawling away at the papers on his desk. Looking up he saw Cas and immediately stood up. "Did you find something out about the Judas," he asked.
"Eli, I think that there is a lot more important things going on than that right now." Cas was shaking.
"Calm down. What are you talking about?"
Cas looked down and saw white lines swilling on his arms. "Like this, Eli!" He raised his arms, "I was marked with something and the only way for me to get rid of these things is to bond with someone, spiritually."
Eli rush over to look at the marks which were only becoming more and more intricate. "There has to be a cure."
"Eli listen to me. There is NO cure. In a few hours I will be an emotionless drone, incapable of basic human emotion." He pointed his finger at him, "Try explaining that to my mother."
Eli sat down, "She is going to kill me."
"No, really," he screamed. "Last time I checked she was fine with something like this happening!"
The door swung open as Joan entered. "Defender of man," she said calmly. "If you insist on having conversations of this volume with your initiate then might I suggest a sound barrier spell. I am currently dealing with my own issues right now."
"You mean your own lies," said Cia pushing her mentor out of the way.
Joan began to rub her forehead. "I did not lie," she said.
"No, you just told me what I wanted to hear," Cia shouted. "You said my humanity would not break."
"I said it might not break."
"Well I don't care maybe I might not go to the ceremony."
"Why are you kids so difficult. I promise that it doesn't hurt."
"And I don't care!" The screaming continued to go back and forth.
Cas wasn't sure what to do. He needed to think, he needed to get out of this situation, but at the same time he wished that he could talk to Cia. If he wanted anything at this time a moment, he wanted to be with her for his last moments. And that's when he realized he need her, because she was what he needed all along.
"Hey," Cas said calmly. "Hey!" Suddenly they stopped and looked at looked at Cas with anger. "Joan can I have a moment alone with Cia, please."
Before Joan could say anything Eli stood up, "That sounds like a good idea, Cas." Eli looked at Joan, "And don't worry Joan I will be in the room watching over them." Eli gently led her toward the door. "We won't be having any romance between clans, not on my watch." As he closed the door and allowed a mandala to form against the door. "There how's about that for a sound barrier," he said rhetorically.
"Eli I am slightly impressed at how far your sass has gotten," Cas said.
"I comes with dying," he said showing his arm which was covered with crystal. "Make this fast."
