Gabriel held his body as if he was ready to attack at any moment. "What are you doing here Michael? Last time I checked you were no longer in existence."
"Really now brother can't we have a civil conversation?" a large crack of thunder reverbed through the ground. "Besides let's not forget who is the warrior of god is and who's only the messenger.
"I'm sorry but Uriel had nothing to do with this mess you made."
Michael seemed disappointed as he looked toward the sky, "Really I fall from Your grace out of sacrifice and that's how you repay me."
"Don't you dare speak to father that way!"
Gabriel and Michael were looking at each other the way an older and younger brother fought. Cas didn't know exactly what to do, the whole situation to him was awkward. "Um," Cas said. "Can I just go back to my whole talking to my mentor thing that I was doing like a few minutes ago."
"No!" They both said simultaneously not looking away from each other.
"Ok cool," Cas was not to sure on what to do.
"Tell him Gabe," Michael said seriously along with a playful tone.
"Stop calling me that I'm over a century old now!" It was clear that Gabriel was getting way to frazzled dealing with his older sibling.
Cas thought it was time for him to finally step in, "What should he tell me?"
"Maybe like where your father is, oh or maybe what you can really do with your angelic power," said Michael
"Those are all things that he must find out for himself, which is why I arranged it so that he could go to the academy." Gabriel realized what he said too late, "Oops."
"And that's why I still call you Gabe, short stack." With a big flick of the wrist he said, "Bringer of light we'll talk again later," and then he was gone.
"Brother!" Gabriel kick up a pile of dirt as he placed the headphones back on his head. "Whatever."
Cas caught him before he was about to leave, "Wait I'm kind of stuck here!"
Gabriel sighed as he removed his headphones. As he walked over it felt like the sun was shining right on you, warm and inviting. "Next time you come across my half-brother, please do call me."
As he reached out to touch Cas, he moved out of the way. "So you know who my dad is?"
Gabriel looked away, "Yes and no, it's very complicated."
"Well how's about you start talking." Cas folded his arms and waited, but Gabriel continued to look away guiltily. "Really?"
"Cas, the bringer of light, you have to understand you need to figure out all of this on your own. If not you will become an immortal."
Cas face cringed in confusion, "A what?"
"Back before demons controlled this world there were more ancient magic stronger than the ones we use today, a wild magic. The magic that you're learning right now still has strong ties to that world."
"So what you're saying is that you don't know anything about it."
"No, in fact, I know more than what I want to." The music from Gabriel's headphone was beginning to blast as transparent spheres formed. One shattered and became pitch black, "Demons are creatures who allow their humanity to become drained but gain great power at a price." He grabbed a sphere from the air and cracked it slowly a dark energy formed. "Magic users allow their humanity to become tampered allowing darkness to fester inside them, but it all ends the same." He squeezed the orb so tight it shattered and became just as the first one.
