Here's a question for you.

What do kids need more? A father or a dad?

What's the difference?

The way I see it, darn near anyone can be a father...

...but not everyone has the patience or the devotion to be a dad.

As for me...

..I've always wanted to be a dad.

Let me tell you, I love it!

And I love my Ford Flex.

It treats me to a smooth ride,
and you know what?

It didn't break the bank.

Room enough for the whole family.

Yes, I love being a dad.

And I love these three adorable little rays of sunshine.

Okay. I'm not their real dad.

- I'm their stepdad.

I actually can't father my own children,

ever since I hit a little snafu at a dental office.

And I thought I'd never have a family.

Until I met a stunning mom named Sara.

Would you look at her?

I am one lucky so-and-so. I hit the jackpot.

Now all three of the kids weren't exactly welcoming at first.

Megan, the youngest, would draw pictures of me dying which scared me a little. She doesn't do that anymore or at least she doesn't show me the pictures anymore.

Dylan. The only boy. We have good relationship and he was a little more receptive of me entering the household. He would treat me like he was a teenager- give me attitude and just straight up ignore me. When he realised I was staying and that I wasn't as bad as he thought, he started to treat me like an actual family member.

Now. The hardest of the bunch for me to connect with was sophie.

The 11 year old was extremely resistant to the fact her mom was moving on from her real dad and getting married. I guess she though I wanted to be her dad. I don't. I just want to be there for the family.

She was worse than both the younger ones. She gave me attitude, acted like I'm not there, got angry at me easily and just was not the kindest. I was calm with her as I knew it would take time for her to trust me.

Although we don't have the greatest relationship but she is more decent to me.

Well that's my new family.
