It's the day after and Dad and Brad have gone to get Grandpa Kurt, Don and Ginny from the airport. I'm just relaxing in my room while the kids are downstairs. I'm excited to see my Grandpa Kurt again and Don and Ginny (even if we just saw them for thanksgiving), I'm just a little worried about if they will get along. Don is, well, he loves to tell people stories and can't exactly tell when others aren't interested. Meanwhile, Grandpa Kurt tells everyone how it is with pure honesty and basically has no filter. There is definitely going to be some awkward moments between them. I hear the front door open and footsteps walking in.

"We're back! With more daddies!" Brad calls out. I put my phone on charge and throw a sweater one over my vest top and track pants. I make my way downstairs and see Grandpa Kurt pass Griffy to Brad awkwardly.

"Hey Grandpa." I say going up and hugging him.

"There's my girl. God, you have just shot up since last time." He says squeezing me before letting me go. Brad signals for me to take Griffy which I gladly do.

"Yeah well that's what happens when the last time you've seen her in person was when she was six." Mom says walking up to us.

"Hey, looking good, Buttercup." Grandpa Kurt says hugging Mom.

"Look who's here!" Brad says as the door opens and Don walks in.

"Pop-Pop!" Megan and Dylan shout running into his arms. Yeah, they definitely have a favourite Grandpa. "Tell us a Pop-Pop joke!" They ask.

"Why does a duck have feathers?" Don asks them.

"Why?" The kids ask him excited for the punchline.

"To cover up his butt quack." Don says. He and the kids start laughing at the joke. I mean I would too if I was their age.

"Hey, kids, I got a good one for you. Two dead hookers wash up on the shore..." Grandpa Kurt starts but is cut off by my parents. Oh, that sounded like a good one aswell.

"Sophie. How's my girl?" Don says turning around and hugging me tightly. Ow.

"Hey Don." I say to him to be kind.

"Don, Ginny couldn't make it?" Mom asks him.

"Oh, she feels terrible. But she sent a batch of her special cookies!" He says bringing out a box of cookies. "Is there milk in that kitchen?" He shouts pointing at the kitchen.

"Yay!" Megan yells running towards the kitchen with Don and Dylan.

"So he gets to be Pop-Pop and I'm just Grandpa Kurt?" Grandpa Kurt moans looking at Dad.

"You want to be called Pop-Pop?" I ask him cringing a little.

"Look, if you want a better name, maybe try showing up a little more often." Dad says to him. After a second, Grandpa Kurt speaks.

"Tell the kids, from now on, it's El Padre." He says smiling. The adults shake their heads and sigh at him before walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah I'm not calling you El Padre." I say to him with a small shake of the head.

"Fair enough kid." He says. He picks up his bag and wraps his arm around my shoulder as we walk towards the kitchen.

"How did that dead hooker joke end?" I ask him. It sounded like a good one.

"I'll tell you later." He says laughing. He sits on the couch to talk with Dad and Brad while I sit on the counter eating one of the cookies Don bought. They taste different to the ones Ginny makes.

"These don't taste like La-La's cookies. They taste like Chips Ahoys." "Megan says. Yes! That is exactly what they taste like.

"No, no. I sat right there in the kitchen and watched Grandma bake them just yesterday." Don says to them. Mom and I share a look. Something is definitely wrong here. They taste and look exactly like Chips Ahoys meaning Don brought them. Ginny always makes cookies. Something must be going on between them two. I stay in the kitchen for a while before I walk into the living room and stand in the doorway. At some point, Rocko ran in and sat on the couch with Grandpa Kurt. Dad, Brad and Grandpa Kurt are all talking about how we are gonna do christmas this year.

"Nah, all that back and forth, who needs that? This place, that place." Grandpa Kurt says a little irritated. That's when an idea pops into my head.

"Why don't we just go somewhere big enough to fit everyone? You know, like a christmas vacation." I say looking up at them.

"That's a great idea. Why don't I book us a great vacation spot for all of us, and we can all spend the holiday week together." Grandpa Kurt says with his arms out excitedly.

"Yay! Cool!" Megan yells running to the doorway with Dylan close behind her.

"Thanks, El Padre." Dylan says.

"Hey. It was my idea." I say to them both.

"I love this idea! It's something extra Christmasy, with lots of snow and family activities for all of us." Don says happily standing behind me and the kids.

"Dad, I'm just worried about finding a place, you know, this close to the holidays." Dad says clearly faking being sad. Well, that is until Grandpa's phone beeps.

"Booked it! Airbnb. All done." Grandpa cheers showing Dad and Brad his phone.

"Yay, El Padre!" The kids cheer happily.

"It's gonna be so fun, since we're all such great friends, huh?" Grandpa laughs looking straight at dad. This may just be the most fun christmas ever!
