We are now at dad's place after the show. Mom, dad and Brad are all in the kitchen having that uncomfortable conversation I mentioned earlier. The rest of us are in the living room watching Spongebob. Well they are, I'm on my phone talking to my friends. My phone is snatched out of my hand by dad who must've come in with mom and Brad at some point.

"Guys, we've got a big surprise for you." Dad says to us.

"A surprise?" Karen questions.

"Another pony?" Megan says excitedly.

"A trampoline?" Dylan also says excitedly.

"My own car?" I say kinda excited. I have been counting down the days before I can get my learners permit but I have been trying to convince my parents to buy me a car to practice. They don't trust me for some reason.

"You leaving?" Adrianna says. I flick her head to tell her to shut up. I mean, I get she doesn't like having a step-dad but she shouldn't say that infront of Megan and Dylan.

"Not quite, okay? But, no, we got something better than that, okay?" Dad says.

"So much better. It's gonna be great." Brad adds from behind dad.

"Guys, this year, no more back and forth at Christmas." Dad says in an excited tone.

"We're not doing the back and forth." Brad adds again, also in an excited tone.

"Nope. I just said that." Dad says sounding slightly annoyed. "This year, we're gonna spend one Christmas all together, all of us! A Together Christmas!" Dad yells happily. Megan and Dylan both cheer while I just smile a little. I mean, it sounds fun but also super annoying.

"A Together Christmas!" Brad yells slightly louder.

"Brad, stop. You don't need to repeat everything dad says. We get it. A Together Christmas. Sounds great." I say chuckling a little. The phone suddenly starts to ring and I get up to answer it. "Hello?" I say holding the phone up. " Oh, hey Grandpa Kurt. Father, Grandpa Kurt wants to talk to you." I say holding the phone out to him. Grandpa Kurt is dad's dad. He is really fun but a lot like dad used to be. He isn't around that much.

"No, no, no. Dusty, I'll just tell him..." Mom says

"No. It's okay, Sara." Dad says walking over. He takes the phone off me and hands mine back to me. "Thanks, honey. What, Dad? Yeah, long time. No, I'm fine. Tomorrow? Tomorrow. No. I could probably pick you up, I guess, but..."

"Hey! Psst! Guess what? My folks are coming tomorrow." Brad whispers to dad. Oh yeah. Brad's parents aren't bad. Don and Ginny are just classic grandparents you know. Cookies, weird stories, little presents every time we see them. It's just a bit weird cause i've never had grandparents like them.

"I don't care." Dad whispers back.

"Aw, you can go together." I say to them. Brad points at me and looks super excited while dad just gives me a look.

"You shut up." He points at me. Me and my siblings start laughing a little while dad goes back to the phone. "Dad, do you want to just text...Hello?" He says. He sighs and puts the phone down.

Guess we are having three grandparents for Christmas.
