Sophie POV:

I'm in my room practising my flexibility. You see, I'm a dancer so it is really important to keep up with it. Its just about the only thing I can do without needing extra help. I'm in a split with my front leg on my desk chair when Megan come strolling in.

"Hey Phee. What are you doing?" She asks confused.

"Just stretching Nutmeg. Do you need something?" I ask standing up.

"I think I'm gonna ask Brad to go to that Daddy-Daughter dance. I think it will be fun." She says looking down nervously.

"Why would you want to do that Meg? He's not our dad." I say pushing my chair back and sitting on my bed.

"Cause it'll be fun." She says smiling.

"Well you can if you want to but I'm not gonna." I say to her.

"Ok" she says running out of my room ti presumably go and ask step-douche

Now before you think that I'm just doing that cause I can't stand step-douche because I'm not. Remember how I said my dad left when I was 7, well he left the day before the daddy-daugjter dance and I went with my mom. Other kids the started to pick on me because not only was I dyslexic, but now I had no dad. So yeah, my experience of these dances are not the best.

I decide to go downstairs as I know dinner is going to be nearly done. As I walk down the stairs, I hear my mom and step-douche talking about some fourth grader that are bullying Dylan. Oh hell no. If I see them doing that I'm gonna beat the holy hell out of them. Nobody hurts my siblings. Megan walks into the kitchen after I do and up to step-douche. I sit on one of the stools waiting to see how this is gonna go.

"Hey, Brad." She asks clearly nervous.

"Yeah?" He asks sounding like a little emotional. He always cries whenever something is said to him.

"If I ask you something, you promise you won't cry again?" Megan asks clearly expecting him to burst into tears.

"Of course sweetie. What is it?" Step-douche asks with tears in his eyes already.

"Well, at school, they told us about this thing, and its called a Daddy-Daughter Dance. So, do you want to go with me and Phee?" Wait why is she dragging me into this when I said I don't want to? That little sneak. Step-douche starts sobbing hysterically at this question. Oh my god why is he sobbing? "You said you wouldn't cry Brad."

"I'm not. Girls, yes. A million times yes." He shouts really loud. Should I tell him that I'm not gonna go or let him wait? Damn it i have to tell him.

"I thought big people weren't supposed to cry." Dylan says sitting next to me.

"I think its sweet that he's crying like a little bitch." Megan says confidently. Before you start, I did not teach her that word.........she heard it at the park by teenagers......while she was with me.

"Megan! You are not supposed to call people that word." Mom semi-shouts at her walking to comfort step-douche. "You know what, it takes a real man to show his emotions." Really? There is showing emotions then sobbing like a three year old over a simple question.

"Do i have to go?" I ask. Mom and step-douche look at me as if I said something totally crazy.

"You don't wanna go? Why?" He asks me in shock.

"I just don't want to. Its just a stupid dance." I say. Step-douche looks kinda hurt by that. Great now I feel kinda bad.

"Honey your going. It will be fun for you and your sister to spend some bonding time with Brad. Dylan and I will go bowling or to the mini golf and when you get back, we can all get take out and watch movies all night." Mom says. Dylan and Megan start cheering clearly excited while Brad stops crying.

Yay. I'm so excited.
