Right now we are doing exactly what I thought we would be doing; Meg, Grandpa Kurt, Mom, Dad, Brad, Don and I are walking through the woods turkey hunting with Meg holding a big ass gun. Now, I've held a gun that size before (thanks to my lovely Grandfather), but the thing that makes me nervous is the fact that Megan is holding it. I've been around her when Dylan tries to steal her pop tarts at breakfast so I know how dangerous she can be when she has some sort or weapon, even a baby spoon.

"Here, turkey, turkey, turkey!" Meg gently calls. We've been walking for a while now to where Dad set some stuff up for Megan to shoot I think. I'm not too sure. I've just been more focused on my psycho little sister having a gun.

"Be patient, sweetheart. The decoys are right around the corner." Dad tells her.

"This is nice, huh, Dust? You and me, the fresh air. Just like old times." Grandpa Kurt says to Dad.

"What do you mean "just like old times"? You only took me once, Dad." Dad says back to him as he tries to keep up with Meg.

"What? No. I swear I took you hunting when you were like six. You remember, you hit a duck on your first try." Grandpa Kurt says to Dad which sparks my memory.

"That was me Grandpa. Scarred me for life when you made me take a picture with it." I shudder at the memory. Grandpa smiles at the memory but stops when everyone else (bar Megan who was still searching for turkey's) stares at him shocked.

We carry on walking with Brad and Don trying to make a plan on how to stop Meg killing a turkey. They should just let her. I mean the worst that can happen is she shoots a turkey and doesn't like it.......right?

Finally, we reach wherever it is we were going and Dad and Grandpa get Megan set up.

"Keep your elbow down and cradle the stock, okay." Grandpa says to her but she whips her head around to him.

"Yeah, I get it. Can I shoot the damn thing or not?" She says angrily before turning back to the two turkeys.

"Yeah, that's the spirit." Grandpa proudly says.

"Take a deep breath, and then squeeze that trigger as you're letting it out." Dad says kneeling beside her like Grandpa. Hmm, she is actually doing this.

"Megan, are you sure this is what you want to do?" Brad asks her but Megan just shh's him.

"Brad leave her alone. She can kill a turkey if she wants to kill a turkey." I tell him from where I am standing with Mom.

"Let's name it. She's not gonna kill it if it has a name." Don basically yells as he turns to Brad and they both start to say random names before they seem to settle on Elijah. "Elijah, run home!" He yells as one of the turkeys turn to Megan and charges at her.

"Stand your ground, kid." Grandpa says as Megan seems to get nervous.

"Save yourself, Elijah!" Don yells as the turkey gets closer and closer.

"Take the shot, kid. Take the shot." Grandpa pushes but I can see Megan loosing her nerve

"No, Elijah has feelings!" Brad yells.

"Take the shot!" Grandpa shouts as the turkey gets extremely close.

As it got less than a foot away, Meg screams and falls backwards. She somehow managed to pull the trigger and the gun fires causing the rest of us to shout in shock as Grandpa falls on his back. We all run to him but he seems to be ok, just a little grazed.

"I'm sorry, El Padre! I'm sorry." Meg says kneeling beside him and accidently putting the gun right in his face. I grab it off her so she doesn't shoot him again.

"That's okay, kid. I've been shot worse than this plenty of times." Grandpa says way to calm for just being shot. Everyone focuses on making sure he doesn't bleed out whilst I look at the gun in my hand then to the turkey's. I mean, we came out here to hunt some turkey's to possibly eat, may as well carry on.

Walking away from the group and towards the turkey's, I position the gun and aim at the first one. I fire at it (made significantly harder with the cast) and get it perfectly then do the same to the other one. Hmm, forgot how good of a shot I am. I turn back to my family who have stopped helping Grandpa and were staring at me. I lower the gun and just stare back at them.

"What?" I ask them confused as to why they were still staring at me. I mean, I get I just shot two turkey's, but that is not the most shocking thing that has happened on this vacation. Shit, the last five minutes!

"Wow." Megan says shocked.

"Two for two. She's a better shot then you Dusty." Grandpa says happily from where he is still bleeding on the floor.

"Get the birds, Brad." Dad told Brad who cautiously walked forward, followed by Don, whilst shooting me a look of fear.

"Jesus, Brad! I don't want to shoot you.........anymore." I mutter the last bit as I remember that when I first met Brad I definitely would have shot him.
