"I don't have you up B" Tafari mumbled as he tried to sit up on his hospital bed.
"What happened just prove to me that you are human"
"You ago fuck up"
"More than once too and me just affi go love you enough to look past it"
"Some a the time though"I turned to gaze through the window as tears welled up in my eyes. I didn't understand why Tafari took this so easily and it made me scared to death of his next move.
"Wah happened just make me a medz certain things B"
"Two things it show me eno Staci"
"One, man ago want you and so me affi go work on meself to be the man you deserve"
"Nuff people look down on you and seh you choose me and you this and that.."I wiped my eyes, still peering out into thin air.
"But you never leave me B and you never one day look on me like me nuh valuable"
"You have a bomboclaat look deh weh you give me"
He chuckled to himself
"You look at me like a little girl excited to see her role model"
Tafari snickered, "Like me a you daddy star" he shook his head and grinned then he wiped his mouth and just like that his face was straight again.
"Me nuh deserve it but me love it you fuck"
"Yea man, me appreciate you, girl"
"So me couldn't upset with you, in a way it teach me to value what me have some more cause man out deh wudda kill fi have it"I stood, still peering through the window unsure of what to say. I didn't know if I deserved him either. From the beginning, his love was a consuming fire. I shouldn't have given Bobby the time of day.
"Staci!" Tafari called out and I turned to face him.
"Come here B, come sit beside me"I nervously walked over to him and sat on the edge of his bed.
"Me love you girl" he muttered and swiped some loose hair from my face.
I smiled and then folded my lips. "I know"
Tafari cupped my face. He massaged my cheek and I couldn't help but lean in and closed my eyes.
"The next thing me learn is that me cudda repeat the same thing with me son dem."
"History cudda a repeat itself. Them cudda end up without a father"
"Unuh alone me have eno"
"Me nuh know how me ago dweet but me affi change fi unuh"
Tafari snicker to himself "Me not even have a skill to pussyclaat"
He scratched his head, "how me ago work this out now?"I didn't answer. I never thought of Tafari in a work environment let alone enrolled at a school. To hear him speak like this was mind-blowing yet it was beginning to bring peace to my being.
Someone approached and knocked on his hospital door. We both look up.
It was Max. My inside trembled all over again."Wah gwaan mad dawg" Max called out and entered the room. I hung my head down, ashamed to look at Max.
"Pretty girl!" Max called out and I looked up with a forced smile.
"Hi" I greeted back through shaky lips.
"Unuh a deal with?"
"Man good sah?" Max asked before he sat on a chair in the corner of the room."Have life you nuh"
Tafari glanced at me, "Have me B and me youth them to suh me govan"Max nodded "Seen, seen"
"That a the greatest mi Killa"Tafari kept glancing at me. The look in his eyes told me he needed privacy with his friend.
"Babe me ago leave now" I pecked his lips
"See Max come keep you company"Tafari looked at me with knitted brows
"Wah?" I asked trying to force back a smile.
"That deh idiot kiss deh fah?"
"Kiss you man good girl"I laughed and gave him a sloppy wet kiss before I proceeded to leave.
Tafari slapped my ass
"Fat ass Staci!"I blushed as memories of our first encounter wiggled its way into my thoughts.
"Later guys!"
