Chapter 53: Crystal Necklace

Ciel finalized his research and it’s finally decided that we are leaving tomorrow.

[Rei, I wish for you to see the result of my research.

After being called, I  headed towards the room Ciel uses as his laboratory.

[Ciel, what is it that you want me to see?]

Ciel was by the stone wall inside the neatly cleaned room wearing a white coat. Doesn’t it look too good on this guy?

The gap is too much compared to his usual adventurer style with bow and arrows on his back that I feel like his delicate and beautiful looks become more prominent with the effect of the white coat.

[This is the result of my research.]

What was shown when he opened his palm is a crystal necklace with the size of a small acorn.

The crystal which shines with emerald green has its flat surfaces combined and combined into a circular shape.

The umbrella part of the acorn is being adorned with gold, and with a matching gold chain, the stone’s color looks attractive.

[Hee~, it’s pretty. Since you said this is the result of your research, does it have magic bestowed to it?]

[That’s right, taking out and compressing the minuscule amount of magic power in the crystals found in the cave, I aligned the directionality of the mystical constitutive relation constructed by the magic power.]

[I see, I don’t understand it.]

Use a technical word that isn’t too hard to understand, please.

[To put it simply, it means that it’s made of crystals that will glow when it detects an enemy to inform you of the danger. As long as you put  this on your body, we will know where you are even if we are far away.]

While doing one thing or another, it’s been one week since we decided to go to the elven forest, and it’s finally time to depart.

The red-haired family members each said their piece as they sent us off.

The woods housing the elven village was located in one corner of the Megipus Forest, which spread out to the east of  Amburezza mountain and the Sacred City of Ruphia.

The Great Forest Megipus is a giant forest that occupies one-third of the Holy City of Habartalt.

Because of its extraordinary vastness, and because its barrier is layered repeatedly, the place where the elven village is in has never even been examined.

By the way, the remaining two-thirds is a stretch of very fertile soil, and although its area is smaller than Yodelia Kingdom, it seems that it’s a prosperous country.

Its position is also strong religion-wise,  Dragonians and Elves live in there, Habartalt is quite blessed.

Apparently, there are also beastmen in Yodelia Kingdom aside from the humans.

Hmm~, I didn’t see any when I was in Verna, but they might just be living together in one place like the Dragonians.

I want to check it out eventually.

Entering the forest, we follow the trackless path that Ciel is guiding us in. He occasionally holds his hand out in an empty space and passes through the invisible barrier that’s like an unstable water surface.

I can’t see whether the barrier has a form or not until Ciel touches it.

When I asked Dy who can see it, he said that it has the elf’s special magic which reacts to Ciel allowing him to pass through it.

Because the barrier does not react to Dy even though he can see it, he said that if he was to pass through it by himself, he might end up destroying it.

Yeah, please behave and don’t destroy it.

The deeper we go, the darker the green colors were becoming. We walk carefully so we don’t get lost in the dark forest.

The scenery completely changed after passing through numerous barriers, floating there was a green mist that is thinly spread.

[Uwah, amazing…]

[Hmm, so the Elven Forest feels like this, the magic power is quite thick.]

Dy also looks around the surrounding with great interest. Alf seems to be concerned about the green mist.

[Is the floating mist here magic power?]

[Probably. For it to be visible, it’s as if it’s in the Spirit World.]

The mist which has the same peaceful and tranquil color as a bamboo’s trunk is so thin that I can see through the distance, it catches the sunlight and glitters from time to time.

[Over here. From here on, monsters different from the ones you know will appear so be careful not to be separated.]

Ciel’s golden hair also looked as if it’s emitting off the light within the mist. While following that light, we step on tree roots while moving forward.
