Chapter Eleven | Help

"So, You'll start working from tomorrow?" Aarons aunt asked.

"Yes. Gladly" She answered.

"Great" His aunt said as she walked away leaving Aaron and Abbie standing there in an awkward silence.

"So bye for today I guess?" Abbie said as she was about to leave.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow?" Aaron said.

Abbie nodded.

Were the supposed to hug, or shake hands? or what? A moment like this never occurred between them before so both of them were not very sure.

They just nodded before Abbie turned around and left.

'Good enough for now' She thought.

-

She felt really happy to get a job. She could finally help in paying the bills and make her summer useful. And not to mention that this job that she landed on was in the restaurant of Aaron. The handsome smart guy who is finally someone who makes her smile and forget all the crap in her life.

Exactly what she needed.

She doesn't know what she was expecting from him further. A greater friendship maybe. More secrets maybe. But what she sure as hell was not expecting was this.

Because when she woke up the next morning and got out of her room, she found Aaron standing outside the room of his brother, ready to knock.

What?

"Aaron?" She said and her voice startled him as he jolted.

"Abbie" He said as he looked at her as if he was caught doing something --- which he probably was.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"I'm here to talk to your brother" He shrugged.

"Why?"

"Because." He said

She raised her eyebrow.

"What's your point Aaron" She sighed.

"I just want to help" He said.

She didn't know what it was in what he said but something acted like a trigger. A trigger to make her furious. She was mad. She was so angry and she didn't even know why.

"Help? You want to help me Aaron?" She laughed coldly.

He just stared at her.

"Why don't you help by going away right now?" She said. They both were shocked by this. How could she say that.

She took her hand to her mouth as he stared at her.

"Oh - Um, I'll see you later Abbie" He forced a smile and left.

He was hurt and it was obvious.

But how was it her fault? Did she really need help? Specially when everyone who decides to help just leaves at the end?
