Chapter Twenty | Scars.

Lucky for both of them it wasn't much awkward between them after they were friends again. They could still casually and normally talk as if nothing really happened between them.

Abbie thanked god for what happened. It was hard to believe that Aaron fought so much for her but it was true and she was starting to accept it.

In fact, everything was getting better.

But the thing about life is that when it keeps getting better and better and we think that we're fine now or at least even a little better, it all falls apart again. Life always gets better just to fall apart again.

Things were going good for both of them until one day Aaron asked just a normal question which turned out to create a disaster.

"Hey Abbie?" He said as he dropped the papers he was working on and looked at her.

They both were sitting at one of the tables in their cafe where they worked, the place was almost empty except for them.

"Yeah?" She said as she looked away from the book she was reading and looked at him.

"Why do you wear full sleeves shirts even now when it's summer and temperature is at its peak?" He asked, casually.

However the question seemed to hit right at Abbies heart as she waited for a few seconds to reply.

"Abbie?" He said her name again, when he got no reply.

"I-I-I" She stuttered "I just like them more" She said

"Oh. But you shouldn't really wear them I mean you will get sick" He shrugged as he punched her arm playfully.

Playfully --- but at the place where what she was hiding hid.

She hissed in the pain.

"Did that hurt? I'm sorry. I was just trying to be playful" He said suddenly worried.

"It's fine" She said but she knew it wasn't. The recent ones were bleeding.

"Abbie" Aaron suddenly said surprised "There is blood on your sleeve" He said and he grabbed her arm as she tried to get it out of his group but he just wouldn't let go.

"Let go Aaron, please" She pleaded.

"Your arm is bleeding Abbie, I'm worried. How-" He rolled her sleeves up and stopped mid sentence as the sight came in front of him.

Her arms filled with all the cuts and scars.
