Chapter Fifteen | Dance.
She snored quietly in the passenger seat as Aaron sat in the driving seat, doing nothing but staring at her. Trying to understand what or who Abbie really was.
She wasn't just another normal girl. Millions and thousands of girls walk by everyday, but something about her makes her stand out from the rest of them.
It's not her blonde hairs, or her light blue eyes. That's just an addition to her beauty. He thought.
Soon, he ignited the cars engine and started driving. Just ten minutes into the drive and he felt Abbie stirring in sleep. Then she was rubbing her eyes coming back to conscious.
Her expression went from confusing to relief to guilty to embarrassed all in one second as she remembered all that happened.
"Want to get coffee?" Aaron asked.
"Sure" She nodded, shyly.
There was a different vibe between the two of them and they both were aware of it. Something changed, they just didn't know what.
They stopped at a coffee shop to get coffee and Aaron pulled her arm towards the opposite direction from their car.
"Where are we going Aaron?" Abbie asked confused.
"I have to show you something" Aaron said as he continued dragging her.
Soon they reached an old and what looked like an ancient building. It seemed like it was empty and no one has been here for ages.
She always figured out Aaron as the type of the person who hardly ever talked and liked to be quiet and alone. So this place felt like a perfect one for him.
"Can you climb stairs?" He asked.
"How many?" She counter questioned.
"Trust me, you don't want to know" He smirked, his dimple showing.
Anyhow, they both started climbing up the stairs. Abbie thought that he was exaggerating but it turned out he wasn't. Because the stairs just were not ending.
After what felt like eternity, and her feet hurting like hell they finally reached their destination.
"And we're here" Aaron said.
They climbed on to a roof type place.
You know how they describe in novels and movies how there is a place which has its beauty completely leaving you speechless? As the sky looked back at you with something that left you warm inside even though you were freezing a second before due to the fact that it's freezing cold? That's how it felt.
She stood their, not uttering a word as the million of the stars gazed back at her. Literally millions. She could stay here forever and not say a single word, just stare.
"Wow" She finally managed to say.
"I know" He said, standing right beside her as he smiled at her reaction.
"This is - GOD" She gasped.
"I come here when I like to be alone. It's always like this here" He said, his hands finding their ways into the pockets of his black jacket trying to find ways to stay warm.
"Abbie?" He said. They both were standing at the corner of the roof with no walls, staring into the sky.
"Yeah?" She said.
"May I have the dance?" He said, causing her to look at him all of a sudden.
"Where's the music?" She said.
"Right here" He said taking out his phone, and headphones.
He placed one into her ear, and the other into his own. Placing the phone into her pocket as "When I look at you" from the last song started playing.
He put his one hand on her waist and she had her arms on his shoulder.
And there, under the millions of the stars shining bright above them and on the most cold night ever of December, She had her first dance.
And to say, the moment couldn't have been any more perfect.
