Chapter Fourteen | Hero.

She ran down the street, as fast as she could. She didn't realize at that very moment that if she took a cab she would get their quicker.

At that moment there were other vital thoughts going in her head. Was Aaron really there? Was he safe? Was he okay? What if they got him? And the one that scared her the most, what if he's dead? It scared her to death how there were chances of that.

She ran and ran and ran as fast as she could and soon she was there. When she got there she could hear sirens of ambulance and police trucks which symbolized the fact that an incident recently took place there.

There was a crowd gathering around something and she forced herself to move forward. She took step after step forcing her way into the people that were all gathered there.

When she finally got to the middle and forward of the center she found something that made her heart literally stop --- a dead body.

A dead body that was covered in white cloth so that she couldn't see her face.

Before she realized what was happening anymore she was on her knees right in front of the body crying her eyes out as she continuously shouted out his name.

"Aaron" She screamed loudly.

She felt a pair of arms pulling her backward but she kept pushing forward she had to see him for the last time she had to say goodbye.

"Let me see him" She said trying to sound angry but it only came out as a whimper.

"Abbie, Abbie it's okay" The stranger pulling her back said.

"It's not, he's dead. Aaron's dead" She said as he finally stopped pushing forward as she realized that there was no point in due to the fact  that the person pulling her back was stronger. Way stronger.

"I'm not dead. I'm right here Abbie. Look at me" The stranger said to her and her heart --- for what felt like hundredth time -- stopped a beat. Only that this time, it was for good.

She turned around her head in a mili-second just to see that stranger was not at all a stranger but the boy she thought was in that white cloth -- Aaron.

"Aaron" She shrieked as she wrapped her arms around him and enveloped him into a hug, nuzzling her head into his neck as she sobbed uncontrollably.

"Shh, it's okay. I'm here" He soothed her as he moved his hand up and down her back.

But she wasn't listening, she kept crying and sobbing and mumbling words that he couldn't understand.

After trying to calm her down a few times but failing, he finally managed to pick her up bridal style and carry her to his car. That seemed to stop her mumbling at least, though she continued to sob.

I always asked for this and today I found it. He thought, A hero.
