【HERO】
"This really is perfection." Josephine licks chocolate frosting from her index finger.
She lets out a soft sigh.
It makes my cock stir.
I had her twenty minutes ago, but I still want more.
I want her all night.
All day.
Every day for the rest of my fucking life.
Bliss spills over her expression as she savors the treat.
It's a tiny thing, but it expands to fill the room.
Seeing her like this—calm, content, at peace—is exactly what's been missing from my life.
Josephine looks up at me. "What are you thinking?"
"You groan like that again and I'm gonna take you here." I can't articulate my feelings. Not yet.
Her cheeks flush. "Oh." She breaks her cupcake in two and offers half to me. "Noted."
"It's yours."
"There are two."
"Still."
She sets the half on the glass table in front of me. "I'm leaving it there.
Eat or don't."She tears off another chunk and plops it in her mouth.
Her eyelids flutter closed as the treat melts on her tongue.
A soft groan rolls off her lips.
She leans back in her chair with an expression of utter serenity. "You're not eating it."
"It's still yours."
She shakes her head and motions to the other cupcake. "We'll share both."
"You eat dinner?"
She makes a sorta motion.
"I'll make you something."
"That's going backward."
"Even so." I lean in to brush my lips to hers.
She digs her hand into my hair, holding my head against hers.
Fuck, she tastes good.
Like chocolate and sugar.
I pull back with a heavy sigh. "I tell you how much I missed you yet?"
"Once or twice."
"Am I being obnoxious?"
"No. You're... Hero."
I throw her a curious look then move into the kitchen. "Hero?"
"Are you not?"
"Sometimes I don't know." Right now, I do. It's obvious. When I'm around her, I'm a better version of myself. More of myself.
She stands and follows me into the kitchen.
It's perfect. A calm, quiet night. Soft breeze blowing through the windows. Moonlight falling over the room.
Josephine in my t-shirt and boxers.
Me in an old pair of jeans.
This used to be our life.
It could be our life again.
Someone needs to take care of her. She won't do it herself. And her dad
