Lost in the memory

Ten

-July 1st 2010-

They drove Bucks Jeep up to San Antonio as it was way more dependable than Eddie's car. They each drove about two hours of the trip. It was a nice trip. And they even got to see a bit of Houston along the way. Eddie was honestly just excited about spending these next five days with Buck. He was all Eddie's for these days.

Getting settled into the hotel yesterday and just relaxing from the drive was their main priority. They did check out some of the local restaurants.

Today they are thinking about going to the San Antonio zoo! Seeing how much Buck loved the aquarium Eddie couldn't wait to see him light up about this! Eddie was going to get so many fun facts. He's so cute. He loves him.

They walked through the black iron gates, a nice older lady sat at the ticketing window. She handed them two tickets as Buck snatched his from Eddie, pulling him towards the entrance. The first animals were Black bears, they watched them walk around and snack on some fruit that the care takers had put out.

"black bears can run up to almost 30 miles per hour. So you better just give him your dang honey." Buck laughed

"Id be able to take him!" Eddie scoffed back

"No you'd die!"

They walked along a inside building with a ton of beautifully put together fish tanks and aquariums. There was many different types of fish they had. A cool looking eel and so many different turtles. Buck was fixated on watching one chase a little fish around.

"Noo!" Buck pouted as the turtle grabbed its meal. "Poor fishy!"

He humphed along down the path.

Eddie took his hand and they continued on to see different animals. Eddie hadn't been to a zoo in so long, he missed being able to enjoy these things. They played on the metal statues and ran through the water features, earning some weird looks from passing moms and dads. It was so relaxing to just be a kid again. He brought that out of Eddie, Buck allowed him to let go of the fear of being judged.

"Look at the Caracal cat! they are known to have a vertical leap of over 10 feet!"

"Dang. I like their color, super cool coat" Eddie smiled back

"I want to pet it!" Buck said

As Buck said that the cat leaped probably half it's ability straight up to the cool spot under the rock features. Climbing to its basket swing bed.

"Like see! It's just a baby!"

"NO!" Eddie giggled

They looked at the other large cats the zoo had in the area, the Jaguar and the Bobcats. Then went to this underground viewing area of the Hippos lounging in the pool.

"Ugh, I want that! A pool would be so nice!"

"We can go swimming if you want Buck" Eddie told him

"PLEASE!" His eyes sparkled up at him

"Okay later" he smiled

The hippos just chilled under the water for so long.

"They'd win at a breath holding competition any day" Buck said

They walked towards a little restaurant the place had. Getting some pizza, drinks and a chance to relax in the shade for a bit. It was pretty hot.

After lunch they went and saw more animals including hyenas, giraffes and elephants. The zoo even had a baby elephant that was so adorable. His big ears flopped everywhere as he followed his mom around.
