Eddie just shakes his head as they hop up into the car. He opens the trunk, throwing Buck some clothes out of a duffel back, they both quickly changed in a McDonald's bathroom down the street. Eddie begins to drive the Jeep back to the hotel, Bucks arm hanging outside of the passenger window, just vibing to the music on the radio. Buck thinks the sun could explode right now and he'd be happy. They stop at a red light and some other guys around their age in a Ford truck pull up next to them, revving their engines.

"Twenty bucks says you can't cut us off" the strange driver shouts out to Eddie.

"Just ignore them" Eddie scoffs

"Make it thirty." Buck shouts back

They nod as Eddie glares at Buck

"Come on!" He laughs and playfully slaps Eddie's chest.

"Fine" he says

He grips the wheel a bit tighter, then the light turns green and they both floor it. The wind blowing through the car, as Eddie hit the gas harder. The adrenaline rush was amazing.

As soon as it started, Eddie pulled in-front of them taking the lead, cutting them off as the lane ahead was merging from two lanes down to one. The guy driving behind punched the steering wheel, rolling his eyes. Before the boys could pull over and earn their money, red and blue lights flashed behind them, the truck took the opportunity to floor it out of there.

"Shit" Eddie muttered.

"Sorry" Buck apologized and looked down at my hands.

"Not your fault" he sighed

The cop came up and knocked on the window. Doing the usual routine of checking license and registration and insurance. Buck explained that it was his Jeep, Eddie was just driving them back to the hotel.

"Did you plan on street racing today?" The cop asked the two.

"No it was just, a dumb spur of the moment thing, really we're sorry" Eddie tried to reason.

"Unfortunately I'm still gonna have to bring you both to the station and you will have to get the car out of impound" he says.

They both just look over at each other, knowing they fucked up. After the awkward ride to the San Antonio police station, the cops had them wait in a room and two other cops came in. Asked Buck and Eddie about the guys that challenged them. Apparently those guys were part of a group that ran the street races, and also hustled drugs.

"I swear! We don't know anything, we just were being dumb teens" Buck begs.

The cops took their statements and descriptions of that Ford truck. Luckily, the cops decided to just let them off with a hefty ticket, which was to be paid within 60 days, and the nice impound fee for today.

Once back into the Jeep, Buck kept apologizing like crazy.

"Buck, it's not your fault. It was fun." Eddie calmed him down.

He nodded, still feeling guilty.

"So," he grabs Bucks face "let's go enjoy the rest of the night and this trip"

He looks deep into Bucks eyes and places a kiss on his lips. He smiles, pushing back into the kiss. Nodding against him. In that moment Buck saw Eddie's eyes light up with a spark. He wasn't sure what to call it, but a spark of hope? It was such a sweet sight to see.

"What?" Buck giggled

"What.. what?" He asks

"The change in your eyes, you have something on your mind."

He shook his head and just looked out to the parking lot.

"I had a thought, but it's dumb" Eddie just sighed

"Tell me!" Buck pushed him

He sat in silence for a moment

"I thought... thought that maybe this could work, I could stay, with you..." he trailed off and just started the car.

-July 4th 2010-

"Buckley! Wake up!!! It's America's birthday!" Eddie wined from across the room.

He grumbled and tossed his pillow at Eddie's face and covered back up. He was so tired from everything they did yesterday, they stayed out super late even after the semi arrest. Now tonight Eddie wants to go bar hopping, Buck just wants to nap right now. He pulls the cover off Buck and takes it away with him.

"America can skip her birthday" Buck grumbled again.

He rolls his eyes as Buck passed him to the bathroom. 'At least he's cute.' Buck thought.

Once both got ready, they headed out to a local coffee shop to grab breakfast.

-
They walk up to the store front, holding hands. Eddie opens the door for Buck and walks in behind him.

"Welcome! What can we get you?" The girl behind the counter smiles

Her blond hair and blue eyes look Buck over and she lightly blushes. He could tell she was attracted to Buck. If Buck wasn't with Eddie they'd definitely be hooking up today. Now Buck doesn't even have a second thought of her. He only wanted Eddie.

"I'm going for the Caramel cold brew, and a sausage egg burrito. What do you want, babe?" Buck smiled towards Eddie.

He saw the girls smile fade. Good, reality checked her.

"Vanilla latte and umm the avocado toast with bacon!" He replied.

Buck nodded and payed. He walks off with Eddie, to wait at the end of the bar for their food. As the girl hands Buck the food her hand traces lightly over his, with a wink. He just glares her down. Turning over and kissing Eddie on the cheek, pulling him out.

"What was all that?" He asked "not that I mind the kisses"

"That girl was flirting with me and didn't take the signal that I was taken" he shrugged.

They ate and drove around in the car for awhile, sight seeing around the city. Later on that afternoon Eddie told Buck that he knew a old high school friend moved out here. He was throwing a party, that they should pull up.

"I don't know Ed's, your friends haven't had the best track record with me" Buck teased him.

"He's chill, don't worry" Eddie reassured him

"I guess,"
