chapter one: the ending of an old thing

MONDAY

Monday's are really not my thing. I really just wanna wake up and it's all a dream. I wanna wake up on a vacation spot somewhere far far away. Anyway, I get up and get ready for school. My brother runs into my room while I'm doing my hair.

Lumki: sisi, mama says you're taking your sweet time.
Uya: I'm coming down.
Lumki: hurry up, sisi.
Uya: please leave.
Lumki: okay okay...

He leaves my room and literally 2 minutes later...

Mom: Uya! phuma phela sisi.

I walk into the kitchen to find mo girl and her son waiting for me.

Uya: I'm done, mama.
Aviwe: took you long enough!
Mom: leave my baby alone.
Aviwe: your baby is going to take a taxi the next time, she wakes up late.
Uya: and if I got kidnap and murdered by serial killers, it would be on your hands.
Aviwe: only weirdos think like that.
Uya: no, only intelligent people.

I look at my brother, Aviwe with a fake smile and roll my eyes. He's so annoying.

Uya: where's my school bag?
Aviwe: in the car.
Uya: what if i have the wrong books?
Aviwe: I checked your timetable and packed your books for you.
Uya: and would you know what day it is?
Aviwe: asambe tuu, I wanna come back and sleep.

I'm the only one leaving the house today, mama is preparing for a court case tomorrow and viwe is taking lumki to the dentist.

We walk out and head to the car where he finds it necessary to fasten my seat belt for me. Did I mention that I'm treated like a baby by this person?

My school is only a few minutes away from my house so we get there after a short while. I step out of the car and I am met by my best friend, Thandolwami. Aviwe rolls down the window by the passenger seat.

I grab her by the arm and start walking off while pulling her.

Thando: that was rude, friend.
Uya: ugh, whatever.
Thando: eh.
Uya: anyway, friend. guess who texted me?
Thando: teboho?
Uya: yeah.
Thando: friend, are you over this boy?
Uya: I think so?
Thando: what was he saying?
Uya: he said he'd like to see me today, afterschool
Thando: friend! no! your brother is fetching you!
Uya: I'll tell him that I have a test or extra classes so we'll go to your house and they can fetch me there.
Thando: friend?!
Uya: just relax, thando. they won't find out.

We walk off to register period. Thando is right, if im really over this dude then maybe I shouldn't be seeing him today.

The day goes on and on and on. Just another Monday, yoh hai shame. Anyway, it's finally the end of the day. It's also time to end ties completely.

Uya: bye friend, I'll see you in a few.
Thando: don't let him manipulate you and stay safe, call me when you're done.
Uya: alright.

I walk up to the school gate where I find tebo parked outside. He looks at me and smiles before smoking his vape. Tebo is 22, he's 6'3 and he's a dark skin, also tall and buff. He has a very dominant aura and a presence that screams "I'm here". He's so sexy. He's everything and more. He walks up to me as I'm just drooling over him.

Uya: dumela tebo, where are you taking me?
Tebo: my house.

He laughs and looks down at me, staring deep into my eyes.
