3 weeks later...
We have been here for so long, it feels like the covid quarantine thing. We are on lockdown and it's driving us insane! It has been really awesome spending time with my friends but haaaaa! Not like this. Anyway, we're all leaving tomorrow. Ntsikelelo and I are moving to the farm with the boys for a while. Our parents are back as well, they moved back to the city and Ntsikelelo's parents are in KZN. Tyler's mom moved to SA to live with him and the new baby. So everyone is moving back home tomorrow.
Anyway, we put the kids to sleep and head to our room. We make the bed and get in.
Uya: baby?
Ntsi: yes?
Uya: how come you never speak about your sister?
Ntsi: it's not easy to.
Uya: why?
Ntsi: this whole drama is why she's not with us, my sister passed away when she was only a few years old. I absolutely adored her but she lived a very short life. there was a shout out at my house and she was playing outside. in that moment, all those who were inside managed to hide and by the time we realised she wasn't with us, it was way too late. she took three bullets to the chest and one to the head, I watched her lay there lifeless, not breathing, blood everywhere. the Khubeka's have always wanted us dead, we have always been a threat to them.Tears escape his eyes. I give him a kiss and cuddle him.
Uya: I'm sorry.
Ntsi: I promise to never let anyone do that to our kids. I will protect them with all that I have and all that I am.I look up at him and nod. We stay like that, in silence until we eventually fall asleep.
THE NEXT DAY...
Everyone is up, packed and ready to go. I think we have a long drive home because it was a long drive here too. We all stand in the kitchen while the boys put our things in the cars.
Tyler: is it safe?
Thando: I have no idea but what I know is that I wanna go back to my life.
Uya: we have been locked up in here for a while now.
Ntokozo: I'm not complaining, I enjoyed my time here. The boys walk in and we say our goodbyes and off we go. After hours and hours of driving from I don't know where, we finally arrive at the farm. The boys are sleeping so we just put them to bed. I notice that the house is really clean.
Uya: baby, who cleaned her?
Ntsi: aunty.
Uya: okay.
Ntsi: let me go get the rest of our things.I nod and he walks out. My phone rings and I pick up, it's Ntsikelelo's mom.
Uya: yebo ma.
Ma: my child, how are you?
Uya: complaining won't help.
Ma: eish. my baby, there's something that we need to discuss. It is actually quite an urgent matter.
Uya: okay, ma.
Ma: we can't speak over the phone, please come to KZN tomorrow.
Uya: hau ma?
Ma: please.
Uya: I will speak to your son and get back to you.
Ma: thank you, bye.Ntsikelelo walks in with our bags and I chuckle.
Uya: you might as well put those back in the car.
Ntsi: haibo why?
Uya: we have to go to KZN.He looks at me with his brows furrowed.
Uya: your mom called, something urgent came up.
