FIVE MONTHS LATER...

Uya's POV

I am sitting in my baby's nursery. I don't know the gender so everything is in grey and white. I am now 8 months pregnant and ready to pop. I am really tired and I miss my baby. Junior left after Thando's wedding to be potty trained by his grandparents in KZN. He visits every now and then. He can even sound words better now. I asked his grandparents to speak to him in English. I really want him to be fluent as a toddler. We will teach him Zulu as time goes. I am sitting on that big ball while eating yoghurt. I head downstairs and ask aunty Thandazile to go with me on my evening walk. I have been doing these a lot for the last few months. We are escorted by Sibusiso and the rest of his team while the rest stay at home. I'm wearing a long black dress that holds every part of my body nicely but shows my big bump. I have my natural hair up in a bun and I'm wearing novelty slippers. I'm also wearing a grey cardigan.

Aunty: my baby, you look like you're ready to pop.
Uya: aunty, I'm suffering. I just want this person out of me.

She laughs. I can't go on so we reach the corner and go back home where we walk around the garden. I go back upstairs where I sit back on my ball and keep bouncing. Honestly, everything hurts. I can't be pregnant for any longer. I really miss Junior so I video call my mother-in-law.

Ma: hello, my baby.
Me: hey, mama.
Ma: how are you doing?
Me: I'm in pain and I'm very tired, mama.
Ma: stay strong, that person will be out soon

We don't know the gender of the baby yet, I wanted it to be a surprise.

Me: can I please talk to Junior, mama?
Ma: okay, my dear.
JJ: heyo mama.
Me: hey, my baby. how are you?
JJ: I'm fineee.

He says dragging his words.

Me: mommy really misses you.
JJ: Junior miss mommy too.
Me: are you going to visit mommy and your baby brother or sister and daddy?
JJ: yes mommy.
Me: give gogo the phone.
Ma: goodbye, my child.

I hear Junior crying, screaming before she ends the call. Not being able to be there for him really shatters me. I start crying really badly too. I suddenly miss Ntsikelelo and I think he's at the warehouse so I get in the car and drive there. It is hard convincing the guards but I do it anyway. I get there and walk to the entrance where I hear Ntsikelelo speaking threats to someone. I hear screams as if someone is being tortured so I walk in and I'm met with a very disturbing sight. This man has probably been locked up and been tortured here for weeks.

Uya: Ntsikelelo?

I whisper in awe of what I'm seeing. My water breaks and we both look down.

*Gunshots*

I duck and look at him.

Ntsi: baby?! you have to get out of here!

*Gunshots*

He runs over to me and picks me up and places me in the car that I came with. He tells one of the guards to get in his car and drive it elsewhere. He rushes me to the hospital. My labour pains are not helping either because I just keep screaming.

Ntsi: please baby, we're almost there.

*Gunshots*

Ntsi: they followed us!

He pulls out his phone and calls his brothers and his father.

Ntsi: the Khubeka's are following me and they seem trigger happy. I am with Uyathandwa and she's in labour. Okay, I'm on the way.
