I found Jemmy waiting out by her locker which happened to be right beside my locker. When she saw me a look of concern showed up instantly. She ran up to me and squeezed the crud out of me. "Avalon Angel Moore! Don't you dare scare me like that again! You had me so worried! And when you responded to my thought like I said it out loud, to say I was weirded out is a huge understatement. But I am so glad you are okay! You are okay right?" She asked checking me for any sign of hurt. I shook her off laughing and spun in a full circle. "I am okay, you see? No damage done whatsoever! Now come booboo! I must put my things into my locker!" I said spinning my lock for my combination until I heard a really loud click. It actually made me jump, it scared me so bad. Jemmy looked at me funny but I shook my head at her and she nodded. Standing up after I had put all my things in my locker we head over to our 1st period class. Home Ec! We locked arms and skipped all the way to the front door laughing at random things and totally ignoring all the weird stares we got from people. Me and Jemmy are used to it now anyways.

"Alright students now you put the dough in the over and set it for 141 degrees Fahrenheit. After that we just wait for the beeper to go off!" Mrs. Baker said. I laughed at her last name. Because she bakes and her last name is baker. It's funny, right? Jemmy tapped on her table getting my attention due to my apparent vampire hearing and I glanced in her direction. Jemmy was pointing at her mouth and showing me that she but her tongue and was in the middle of laughing and crying. A little bit of blood dribbled from her mouth and she gasped at me. My stomach growled loudly and I gasped as pain filled my insides and a single tear stretched down my cheek until it fell on the floor with a small splat. Yes I actually heard my tear hit the ground. Jemmy rushed to me and whispered in my ear "Your eyes changed colour! They were orange! Like fire!" She squeaked silently. I only nodded and gulped, at this point my eyes changing colour did not faze me one bit. Mrs.Baker walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder. My stomachs growled even louder this time as I sensed Mrs.Baker's blood. Groaning I sit up and fall back down. Mrs. Baker gasped and helped me back into my chair along with Jemmy. "Jemmy take Avalon to the nurse please." The ovens all dinged an it sounded like guns shooting through the air to my still sensitive hearing. I have to get used to my hearing, it may be okay tomorrow. I shrieked in pain and clung on to Jemmy who yanked her arm back in surprise at my strength. After sending her an apologetic look she nodded and helped me up again. As soon as we were in the hallway I turned Jemmy towards the school entrance instead of the nurse's office. Of course Jemmy being Jemmy tried to turn me back but I refused. "Ava! What are you doing? You could be seriously sick and you don't want to go to the nurse's office! I know you are scared of the doctor's but I saw how much pain you are in." My eyes flashed to meet hers and she visibly gulped. "My eyes changed again didn't they?" I choked out through my parched throat. Jemmy nodded and said "Yeah they changed. And your...fangs?...are showing as well. Girl you have some serious explaining to do." "So no nurse." I wheezed out. "Yeah no nurse defiantly. I don't know how the nurse would react if you, my best friend, apparently a vampire, showed up at the office." She whispered to me. The cool air of outside hit me hard and I gasped for air. A thousand different blood veins showed up in my head. "Run." I told Jemmy. She didn't understand how hungry I am. "Run!" I yelled this time and she understood. With a sad smile she set me down and walked back into the school. I immediately ran towards the woods and growled out loud to any animal nearby. They would scatter instantly after hearing that growl. If it wasn't me, I would have ran. Red dots appeared in my mind and I followed the closest one and inhaled the scent greedily. It was a rabbit, a small bunny rabbit. The vampire side took over and I yanked the rabbit from the ground before it even knew I was there. It shrieked once before going limp. I tried to leave enough that the rabbit would live but I couldn't take it and the rabbit went limp, never to move again. Why did it have to be a bunny?!?!? I cried silently curling up in a tiny ball until my stomach growled again. "How many dang sweet animals do I have to freaken suck dry until I am satisfied?!?!?" I screamed putting my fists into my hair. This time a bigger dot zipped into my mind and I knew instantly that it was a big buck. Before I knew what I was doing I had already chased the buck down and was currently sitting on a tree branch watching it with my orange fiery eyes. A twig snapped not too far and I noted that it was another rabbit. The buck's head snapped up and stared in the direction of the sound, this was my chance! Leaping down from the tree branch completely soundless I slammed the buck to the ground and drank until I was finally satisfied. Good. Now I can go back to school and act like I went to the nurse and finish school.

I've decided not to cry for the animals anymore. God sent animals on earth so that we could eat them and that is exactly what I am doing, except not eating them, drinking them,
