Chapter 12

Ava's Mom's POV 

They were after us, i could already smell the blood they would spill from our kind. There were more of us than them, but we are in hiding due to werewolf population growing over the years. My daughter Avalon was born over 100 years ago but she remembers nothing because i made her forget so she would only know a normal life until she turned 18 in human years. Avalon had changed into a vampire long before that but i switched the time for her and now it is becoming much more dangerous for us. The man that my darling has come to know as her father is only her step father. Her real father died several hundred years ago due to a werewolf attack. I was devastated but for the sake of Avalon i continued on with our lives and then i met my new husband. He loved us no matter what and for that i am truly thankful. Avalon still knows nothing about this. Or the fact that she is a pure blood. Yes, her father was also a vampire, we were both born one and so was Avalon. Pure bloods are meant to have special powers, powers stronger than normal vampires. I don't know if i am ever going to tell her or if she finds out on her own. But if she has to know, it has to be soon.

I heard the door close downstairs and i knew that my thinking time was over. Gerald walked into my room moments later with a huge smile on his face. He was not my mate but i love him like he is. Ava's father was my mate. "Dear, how has your day been, because mine has been crazy!" He said laughing. I smiled and laughed along with him. "My day has been...spent in my thinking time.".I spoke honestly. Gerald knew everything and that when i had my thinking time it meant something was bothering me. He patted the seat next to him as he sat on the couch in my office. Sighing i step over the books on the floor and sit next to him. "What is bothering you?" A smile appeared on my face but quickly vanished."We need to tell Avalon...and soon. She deserves to know the truth about her past. That she is not really 18, only appears to be. That she is a pure blood. Everything." I whispered putting my head on his shoulder. His arms wrapped around me and i felt him nod. "We do need to tell her. How about today when she gets home from school? She can bring Jason too if it will help her. I know that they are Mates and that is a big deal." i stood up from the seat and went down to the kitchen to get me some tea. Tea always helps me when i am stressed out about something.

Ava's POV

'Darling, come straight to the house after school today please. Me and your father have something very important we need to talk to you about. Oh, and bring Jason.' I didn't reply. What was that about anyway? Of course i was going to do what was asked of me but i was still curious. After Henry and Jason had their 'chat', Henry and Jemma went over to her house to help him heal. From what Jemma is telling me he is doing fine. I kept my promise and called her after Jason told me everything that they had talked about. It was nothing big, just about Alpha stuff. There was something that i believe Henry wasn't telling us though. Something really important.

"Avalon Moore! Do you mind explaining the reason you are not in your classroom?" Mr. Xavier asked demandingly. "I was going to the nurse to get my, er, medicine. My head was pounding badly and i also need my eye drops. The last part came out almost like a question. My acting has never been really good but i have never been bad at it either. Apparently i was getting better at it. Mr. Xavier seemed to think about it when i almost fainted. My head really was pounding and my eyes are fighting against me trying to show their true selves. The bright orange red fiery selves. "Go on Miss Moore to the nurse's office right this minute. I do not need any students fainting in my hallways." He then proceeded to walk away. It wasn't even his hallways, he was only the janitor. I mean come on man! The real reason why everything hurts is because, yeah, i haven't fed in a while and now my stomach and head is getting angry at me about it and letting me know that. First though, i wanted to let Jason know where i was going. At this period, he is in Mrs. Baker's cooking class. She knew i had a few 'problems' as she likes to call them and wouldn't mind if Jason came with me. Ignoring the pain, i hobble over to her classroom and knock on the door before going inside. Jason looked over from his seat at me and immediately saw the pained look on my face. "I need Jason please." Knowing my situation (so she thinks), Mrs. Baker let Jason go with me. As soon as we were in the hallway Jason picked me up bridal style and we walked out of the school, my head laying on his shoulder."Why haven't you fed already? You know that you get really sick if you don't. You cant even feed on animals anymore so how are you going to get blood? "Jason asked me as we stopped in the middle of the woods to think for a moment. I was still in his arms, one of my favorite places to be.

Thirty minutes later me and Jason walked by many people hand in hand. It was nice to be at school an the woods with Jason but being out in the public made me smile at even the thought. A lot of girls were giving Jason looks of adoration and giving me looks that we're filled with jealousy. Jason never paid them any attention, his eyes held mine when he smiled.

"J-Jason." I gasped doubling over in more pain than usual. His grip tightened on my hand as he pulled me closer to him, his arms wrapped tightly around my small frame. "Dont worry love. We will get you someone to feed on." I nodded slightly and the pain went away for now. Thank goodness, going a few days without feeding deffinatly takes its tole on vampires. "Excuse me." A voice said from behind us. It was directly behind Jason and i could feel myself tensing. We both turned around at the same time since i was still in Jason's arms. "Yes." Jason spoke without any trace of worry. No one would have heard it, but me being his mate i heard the worry being thrashed around in his head about me, about his pack, and about this newcomer who seemed a bit more than creepy.

It was a girl that looked a little younger than Jason and I. She had short blonde hair that was spiked, dark blue eyes, was sort of tall but not really, and as strange as this is seeing as what she looked like, she was downright intimidating. It was not as much as her looks, but her stance and how she watched everyone and everything. Just scary. "I have noticed that you my friend, are pretty good looking." She said gesturing to Jason who tightened his grip on me a whole lot more with every word the girl said. I have also noticed that you not my friend, are well, lets just say he could do way better than you. Me." I didnt have a wolf or anything but i knew at that moment if i did she would have been torn to peices faster than she could breathe another breath. I smiled at the thought of laughing in her face as i was doing that too. Heehee i am so mean. Jason however didnt really keep his anger to himself. He brought himself to his full hight, skin glowing with fury, and said words that frightened the girl as her back slammed against a wall, but made my heart dance with joy.

"Listen! That girl right here." Jason said pointing to me. "Is the love of my life. The ONLY love of my life. How dare you insult her like that. She is ten times better for me than you will ever hope to be." Short, sweet, and awesome.

The girl was quiet, not daring to move away from Jason's JUST TRY ME look. She didnt try him to say the least. I wouldnt have let her even if she did. 'Just use your mind control power on her and get home. I know you and Jason havent been at school and whether you realise it or not, you two have been out a lot later than you meant to be.' My mum whispered in my mind. After sending my mum a quick reply i nudged my way out of Jason's arms and went up to the girl's face. She had a smug expression like she was about to get away, haha no where near it. "Ava? What are you doing?" Jason asked me staring at my eyes that have now turned a darker shade of orange because i was using one of my other powers. "Just watch." Those two words made him be quiet and so i went to work. I cupped my hands around my mouth and moved closer to the girl. To anyone else it looked like two teenage girls sharing secrets with each other about boys. "You will not say one word to anyone or anything from now on. You will do whatever me or Jason says from now on also. You cannot betray these rules. C'mon." I grabbed her wrists and dragged her along to my house with Jason's hand wrapped in my other hand."How did you do that? You just controlled her mind?"Jason asked. He was so cute when he was confused. His eyebrows scrunched up and his eyes pleaded for me to tell him. "I did exactly that. Now come on. Mum knows were not in school and wants to talk about something important with us."Us?" "Yeah i am not sure why though. Maybe its something about us being mates and all. You know the whole werewolf vampire mates thing hasnt happened in a long long time." We walked in a compfortable silence until we reached my home. "Mum! Dad! Were home!" My mum walked out of the kitchen witha cup of tea in her small hand and instantly i frowned. "Mum whats wrong?" I asked frantically. Her eyed were blank as she looked at me."Why would anything be wrong?" Her voice was shaky. "You have tea." I answered simply. "The giveaway." My mum mumbled. "Sit down. You too Jason. I know that Avalon will need the support." We both sat after staring at each other questiningly. Jason held my hand and i made the girl sit down on the opposite side of the room, my appetite surprisingly not bothering me at the moment. "Your dad is not your father." And with that everything thing about my past was explained to me.
