"Fine then. Don't show up, sheesh." I mumbled to no one. I'm going to sound like a stalker with this but I did read Jemmy's mind one time, if Jason is in range maybe I could read his. Trying several times to get into range I failed until I looked like a whack job trying to get cellphone service by running in circles.

An hour passed and I just ran through the woods for the fun of it. I've always loved to run and this is one of the best runs I've ever had. 'Avalon, I know you can hear me. Get home now.' I barely missed a tree as I fell skidding on the ground. Apparently there was a ditch and I rolled right into it. "Crap, mum!" I yelled out knowing that she couldn't hear me now. 'Why didn't you tell me?' I asked not daring to move from my spot. I heard a sigh from my mum and she replied. 'I do have a reason Avalon. Just come home and I will explain.' Brushing myself off I got up and ran home. 'Alright mum, I'm coming home. I'll be there in like literally two seconds.' I thought and the next second upon my word, I was home and already sitting on the couch of the living room. Mum was sitting on her blue recliner that she loves so much and had her head leaned back and her eyes closed. "Mum." I said quietly getting her attention easily. "Your father is human as you know. I know that you are the one that was listening to my phone call, you were about to call Jemmy no doubt. The change happens on or the day after your eighteenth birthday." I was about to speak when my mum began to talk again. "Mrs.Baker called me about yesterday and how you suddenly was having an 'attack' of some sort. I believe that was your first meal as of yesterday, yes? What did you feed on? Rabbits and maybe a buck?" I sat in my seat staring astonished at my mother. "Yes." I said. Mum raised her head to look at me and stared expectantly. "Any other questions?" I blanked. "Oh yes! One other thing!" My mum said her eyes going wide. I wondered what else she could tell me that I didn't already know. "You are going to find someone. You won't know who until you meet him and look into his eyes in pure daylight. But he will be your Mate. He can be either vampire or human." She said now bored with what we were talking about. "What about a werewolf?" I found myself asking. Mum's face scrunched up in confusion. "Why on earth would you ask such a question? Vampires and werewolves very rarely ever become mates. The last time that happened was..." Mum paused to think. "500 years ago, I believe." "Can I go now mum?" I asked feeling a little let down. "Yes you may go." And with that I ran right back into the woods. I was mid-run when I was tackled to the ground by a heavy furry animal. "Jason!" I screamed laughing. The animal jumped off and ran in a huge circle much like I was doing earlier. The sky was beginning to darken again but this time no stars came out, only the moon was slowly lifting itself through the night sky. Jason shifted and walked up to me smiling. "Hey where were you earlier? I actually came out here to see you, you know." I said teasingly. His smile faded. "There was a pack meeting today. I heard you yelling out for me though. 'Come here boy! Come here!' Seriously?" He asked smirking. We both laughed. "Well how else was I supposed to call you?" I said laughing again. He stopped laughing and put a finger under his chin to think. "Hmmmm. We will have to figure that out wont we?" He said thoughtfully. "Yeah. What school do you go to? Maybe we go to school together." I said hopefully. Jason let his head rise a little and a glint of a smile showed upon his face. "I go to Mandery high school. Don't you go to it also?" My smile glowed and he knew he was right. "How come we have never seen each other then?" I asked. Jason shrugged his shoulders and said "Different schedules." 'Darling it's late. Tell your friend by and come home.' I sighed irritably and thought 'Ok ill be home in a few minutes. How did you know I was with a friend?' Seconds later I got a reply. 'I just could tell. Now come home.' And I nodded. Jason watched me for a moment before saying. "Hey my mom wants me home. By the look on your face I think yours does too." He said letting out a deep chuckle. I laughed and slapped him lightly on his arm. "Yes she does. Now go home to your mum." I said turning around and running. "See you tomorrow!" And I was gone.

Jason's POV

I watched Avalon run away towards her home. She was so silly. I smiled absentmindedly and breathed in her scent before it disappeared. I'm glad that I will be able to hang out with her tomorrow. Maybe I will see her tomorrow at school. After I knew that she was really gone I shifted and ran home. Mum was waiting on me beside the door. "You found her. That is why you took so long when I messaged you. Am I right?" I blushed and pulled my mum into the house. "No mum. Well I don't think so. Her name is Avalon Moore. She really is lovely. You know that I can't really know until we see each other in pure sunlight. I'll know tomorrow at school though. But mum?" I asked a little unsure. Mum stopped folding clothes to look up at me. "Yes son?" She asked kindly. I took a deep breath and said what was bugging me. "She is a vampire. A vampire and a werewolf mate hasn't happened for hundreds of years!" I said astonished. Mum smiled at me and only said one thing before walking to the kitchen for dinner. "If she is your mate, then what you are and what she is, won't matter." Smiling I go to take a shower. Tonight I am going to sleep without dinner. Avalon was the only thing on my mind. Mum is right, it doesn't matter what we are as long as we are mates. I'm sure that we could make it through anything. My smile lasted until I closed my eyes and even my dreams were full of the most beautiful afternoon covered girl ever.
