"Mmh," Kouichi groaned as he woke up alone in his bed. "Cold..." He pulled the comforter tighter around his body and curled into the fetal position trying to absorb some warmth. "Why is it so cold?" Kouichi thought to himself. He searched through the huge closet trying to find something to bundle up with and found.. " Caius' shirt... It still smells like him too. Such a comforting scent." He puts the shirt on over his own and bundles himself back into bed. Still cold, he walks towards the door to Caius's office that connects to their bedroom. But then...
*Thud*
"Kouichi, are you alright?" Caius yelled as he was walking toward the source of the noise.
"Kouichi?... Kouichi!"
Caius ran to his beloved who was in a heap on the floor.
"I thought I told you to stay in bed. You know not all of the side effects are gone." Caius says as he lifted his bride. The sudden movement made Kouichi's stomach queasy and...
"BLEGH" vomit poured out of Kouichi's mouth and onto Caius's clothes.
Caius rushed to the restroom to allow Kouichi to finish in the toilet. And as he did Caius removed his soiled clothes.
"I'm so sorry, Caius!" Tears started to form in his eyes and drip from his cheeks. "This is one of your favorite jackets and I just ruined it."
"It's fine," Caius said with a warm smile, while cupping the side of Kouichi's face, "It's only a jacket, my main concern is you and only you."
"I know but.."
"It's alright, I promise. Now let's get cleaned up."
They changed into bathrobes and walked to the bath.
Kouichi, still being paranoid of the incident two weeks prior, held onto his lover's arm the entire walk there. Once they arrived at the bath, Kouichi's nervousness settled and he released Caius's arm. "Kouichi, I promise you, you're safe here. There's nothing to be afraid of."
"I know but I just can't rub the feeling off that someone's out to get me." Kouichi says avoiding eye contact.
"Excuse me, your highness."
A woman poked her head through the door.
"Ah, I was told I would find you here. I was sent to discuss with you about the meal plan for Princess Kiyomi's birthday."
As Caius discussed with the woman, Kouichi decided to go ahead and in the bath.

"That's right, her birthday is pretty soon. And I've barely spent any time with her recently. I'm the worst..."
Kouichi, lost in his own thoughts doesn't even notice he's at the edge of the water and *SPLASH* falls right in. Kouichi thrusted and thrashed his arms against the water but his already heavy limbs weren't of much help. He lost most of his energy and losing air until Caius jumped in the water and lifted him up. Kouichi was coughing nonstop and his body was shaking. Caius held him close to make sure he was alright. "What happened?" "I don't know. I guess I just got lost in thought." "Try to be more careful, okay?" Caius pleaded with him as he sat on the cliff inside the water. Kouichi responded with a nod.
"I'm sorry..."
"What for?"
"I always ruin everything."
"Nonsense!"
"But it's true! Every time there's a problem I'm at the center of it." he looked up at Caius to reveal his teary eyed, sorrowful face.
"Kouichi.."
"I was the one who drank the Karina! I was the one who almost made you die! I was the one who got kidnapped again! I was the one who lost their memory and can't even remember who's my enemy or my friend! I'm useless!" Kouichi aggressively sobbed. Caius lifted his bride's chin back up.
"Darling, what have I told you about doing that? You can't blame everything on yourself. Those were things that were out of your control. It wasn't your fault."
"I know but I always cause trouble for you and.."
"It's no trouble at all. Every time you're in trouble (just yelp for help! Okay sorry) I'll always be there to help you out of it. That's my job as your husband. And don't you forget that. I love you, Kouichi."
"I love you too."

Author's Note: Suprise Shawty!! I decided to write something. Probably a complete mess but hey it's whatevs. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Wanna Clarify something. So essentially the way Kouichi's memory loss works is he can only regain the memory if he remembers the someone. But if it's between multiple people, he only remember what happened with the person there. Hope y'all liked it. (If you give me ideas I might write more 😉)
