that should’ve been me
when you forced your eyes open
and shut to rid them of blear,
i couldn’t help but be heartbroken
as your fond of her still appears clear.but i won your heart, right?
i should be happy ‘cause you’re here.
passing time in my arms, i can hear
your sighs when she’s out of your sight.it would take time to mend
this melancholy you don’t see.
i knew you almost loved her and
that should’ve been me.she was gone but still here,
in those glances appear a glimpse.
she was gone but still in there,
in the place where i want to be:your eyes don’t look at me
the way it looked at her.
