unsent and unfinished

a girl stares at a message
she’s written on her phone.
she knows it’s her last chance
to fix things but she’s afraid
with the chance she’ll make
for it could make things worse.
the love and joy they brought
to each other’s arms,
the memories they shared,
that filled each other’s hearts.
now she’s here unsure
of how he’ll respond,
but she knows she has to try.
