i lost you in the storms we created
I couldn’t see what you saw
for my doubts clouded
your hope and truth.
I don’t want to miss you now
with our love about to end,
but I wish I blinked twice
for our love could’ve lasted
if I’d fought harder like you did.Never tried to quiet myself.
Never tried to calm them down.
Too blinded by the turmoil.
Too distracted by the pain. And in a snap I lost you
in the storms we created.
Your voice pierced the darkness,
gently singing our favorite song,
trying to find the light
you couldn’t find to me.
In the darkest hour of night,
I ignored your plea.Never tried to quiet myself.
Never tried to calm them down.
Too blinded by the turmoil.
Too distracted by the pain.
