The smaller forest of Lothlorien at Caras Galadhon was much more densely packed than the larger, spread out nature of Mirkwood. Elves all around Violet stopped as the crack of apparition rang out, and she only just had time to steady her balance before arrows were pointed at her from all directions.
"If you planned to make a quiet entrance into this realm, you should realize you have failed miserably," said an ellon with blonde hair. Violet put her hands up slowly, trying to show she meant no harm. She had tensed tremendously, and the beauty of the city didn't do anything to ease her.
Violet grimaced. "Really wasn't trying to make a quiet entrance. Just didn't want to walk through the entire forest to get here."
"State your purpose here."
"I need to speak to the Lady Galadriel."
The ellon in question raised an eyebrow. "And who are you?"
"'Tis alright, Haldir. I shall see Miss Violet," Galadriel said from over the ellon's, who was now known as Haldir, shoulder. Both Violet and Haldir looked to the elleth, but while Haldir inclined his head to her, Violet smiled brightly at the sight of her friend. Galadriel smiled back, beckoning her forward. The two women locked arms, walking off, leaving all of the Lothlorien elves to scratch their heads in confusion.
"I know you know why I'm here," Violet said, looking straight ahead.
"That I do. Foresight grants me that permission, though your raven also helped," she teased, before seeing another blonde ellon. Galadriel's face lit up with love as she gazed upon the man, and Violet smiled at the sight. "Ah! Celeborn. Violet, this is my husband. Husband, this is Violet Potter." Galadriel looked at Violet with a mischievous glint. "Or is it Lady Violet Potter?"
The witch flushed, muttering about 'stupid foresight', as she said, "Please, Lord Celeborn. Just Violet."
He smiled kindly at her, hands clasped behind his back. "Then please, just call me Celeborn."
She smiled back, but turned to Galadriel to ask, "Are you ready?"
"In such a hurry to get back to Mirkwood, are we?"
"My brother is there. I came straight here from Rivendell."
Galadriel hummed. "Very well. But, first..."
Galadriel walked off, causing Violet to furrow her brows in confusion. When she looked to the spot Celeborn was, she found the spot empty. She looked around, and saw no one, leaving her no choice but to follow the Lady of Light to wherever she had gone.
It was like Galadriel was purposefully leading Violet on a chase, but Violet didn't know to where. Her only clues were to follow the footprints left by the elleth in the soil of the land. Eventually they stopped in front of stone stairs, and when she looked up, the Lady of Light's hair was disappearing around the corner. Violet slowly began walking down the stairs, and when she got to the bottom, there was a large basin in the middle of the small area.
"Will you look into the mirror?" Galadriel asked.
"What will it show me?" Violet asked, unable to tear her eyes away from the basin.
"Many things. Some things of the past, some things of the future, and some that may never be."
It was tempting. Too tempting, actually. Was this what Harry felt like, staring into the Mirror of Erised? Like if he moved away, all his dreams would crumble to dust beneath his fingers? Because that's what it felt like to Violet. She could know the future. She could know her future with Thranduil. She could know the future of Middle-Earth, or rather, her part in it. She could learn the outcome of her parts in the upcoming battles. She could learn who dies, and could correct her future mistakes!
