Mr. Fox
2 days have already passed and the brat's still won't wake up but at least he looks like he's not in pain anymore. The old man really knows what he's doing and he's even giving me tips and advice on how to take care of the kid.
"Havin' a kid seems too much work fer a monster..." The man looked down and Osamu could tell that there was something going on with the latter so he waited. "What if... I leave him here, with ya..." The old man kept quiet. "At least he's safe... he's with his own kind..."
"I don't mind." Osamu smiled and the man turned to him. "I understand what yer sayin' and what ya want." He looked at the sleeping boy. "But I think, ya should talk ta him first before leavin'."
"Honestly... I don't think I can last another day in this form..." He looked at his mutated looking hands. "I'm usin' too much energy..." Mr. Fox sat on the bed next to Kiyoomi as his hands unconsciously tried to reach out for the chubby little hand that was just inches away but he stopped as soon as he saw how ugly his hand was trying so hard to reach out to something that he shouldn't even dream of. He felt a squeeze in his chest. "I think I should go." He turned to the old man who was just watching him.
"Are ya sure?" He asked.
"Yeah... He's better off here- -" He was about to stand when he was stopped. He looked down and saw a cute little hand grabbing onto his cloak.
"Don't leave Kiyoomi, Mr. Fox..." His eyes were barely open and full of tears. His chubby cheeks were still red from a small fever. "I want ta stay with Mr. Fox forever..." His voice was barely a whisper but the man-like monster heard him loud and clear.
"Yer welcome here ta visit anytime ya need..." The old man smiled at Mr. Fox. The man sighed, knowing that he already lost.
"Are ya sure, yer ready ta go home?" The man asked the little boy who was holding his hand. Kiyoomi has finally recovered. The little looked at Mr. Fox with sparkles in his eyes. He smiled so brightly like he had always done.
We said our goodbye to Osamu who gladly sent us away with lots of food, medicines, and other things that could help the brat. But for a second that I looked back at the old man who was waving us goodbye, a part of me wanted to stay.
"Till we meet again..."
I can finally turn back to my original form. Being human was a hassle. The brat's on my back with the new stuff and he's back to being energetic.
"Mr. Fox..." The brat crawled to my head. "How come yer a fox again? Don't cha like bein' human?" He asked while hugging the monster's head.
"Why? Didja like that human form better than this?" He smirked at the little one who looked a bit panicked for some reason.
"No! No! I like Mr. Fox no matter what!" He nuzzled onto my fur. "Kiyoomi was just surprise ta see Mr. Fox like that... Ya look scary..." He gripped the monster's fur. "But yer eyes were still the same. Kiyoomi loves yer eyes."
"Thank ya fer not bein' scared of me..." The monster chuckled a little and he could see how the little boy was shining with happiness.
Things were quiet for a while. It was good that other monsters were finally leaving me alone but as much as I didn't have the heart to let the little creature play hide and seek anymore; we couldn't stop and he knew that.
So he got better...
And better...
And better.
Until everything was perfect.

So, why was this happening now?
We were sleeping peacefully after playing hide and seek, I was finally getting used to this half human form. The brat was a bit out of it when I found him but I just brushed it off as being a sore loser. I slept on my usual nest but for the first time, the little creature laid on the bed; away from me. I watched as he covered himself with the blanket but I couldn't help but think something was bothering him and I couldn't help but feel a little... down. I looked around the room.
Has this room always been this big?
He seems so far away.
"What are ya doin', ya brat?"
Grabbing such fragile, little hands. I opened my eyes to see a little boy holding down my neck, doing its best to choke me or something.
"I'm goin' ta kill ya!" He cried out but struggled to break free from the monster's grasp.
"Ya idiot!" He growled as his form shifted unsteadily.
"I am not an idiot..." The monster took the little boy's hands off him.
"If ya wanted to kill me, ya wouldn't have tried ta strangle me with that weak body of yers..." He just looked down, tears dropping non stop. "You wanted me ta wake up." The monster wrapped his huge claw onto the little creature's tiny little neck. His voice was turning into a growl "Ya wanted ta get caught..." Anger was in his voice while tightening his grip a little. The little boy finally looked up, his face started to turn purple. His tiny little hands on the latter's weren't even trying to break free. His thin neck that easily snapped within the tight hold. " Ya wanted me ta kill ya." The little one was now crying. He was scared of the only one he trusted. "But I won't." The monster finally let him go. "Because just like how ya know that I would never hurt ya," His voice turned gentle again. "I know ya could never hurt me." Mr. Fox hugged Kiyoomi and patted the child's back. "I know my Omi loves me." The little boy pulled away upon hearing his name. He stared at the monster with teary dough eyes and the latter just giggled at how adorable the little creature was.
"Yes, yes!" The little boy sniffled. "Omi loves Mr. Fox!" He cried out hugging the bigger male
"Shh... It's alright..."
