The rest of the team stood watching as Steve paced the room, distracted from the mission, exactly what they were afraid about.

Thanos was the goal of course, but seeing Leonora in the state she was had rattled Steve last night. She had been inconsolable. He had stayed with her for the rest of the night, simply holding her until she had cried herself to sleep again.

And she'd accidentally hurt Nat. Steve knows the guilt racking through her right now would be heavy. He also worried how this would affect them trusting her. But surely everyone on the team knew what it was like to get nightmares. It was something none of them could escape.

"Hey Rogers, you listening? Me and you buddy what do you say?" Tony interrupted Steve's pacing as the team gathered round, planning teams for the take down of the stones.

Steve's eyes were far away but he quickly regained composure.

"Yes Stark. We'll get it." He agreed as he stood with his hands on his hips, watching everyone.

"Steve, you know she's in the safest place. Medusa can't get her here." Nat spoke softly now, reading his mind.

She had a slight bruise on her arm and a cut on the side of her head, but it was superficial and she insisted she was fine.

"It's Hydra Nat. No, it's worse than Hydra. They can get anywhere." He said worriedly.

Bruce and Nat exchanged glances. He wasn't wrong. But they couldn't think about that right now, even though the team had somewhat gotten used to Leonora's presence and most didn't feel threatened by her anymore.

"Cap, it is understandable you are worried about your lady friend. Hydra are after all a formidable force, but nether the less, we have battled greater! And we can deal with them after Thanos." Thor said with such bluster, Steve almost believed his enthusiasm.

Stark rolled his eyes.

"She can take care of herself Cap. She's done it before. She's stronger than most of us. She's ok." Tony commented, trying hard to concentrate on the mammoth task at hand.

Steve scrunched his face.

"What is it?" Nat probed further.

Steve took a seat, wringing his hands in his palms. He looked extremely nomadic. His beard was longer now and his hair hung loosely over his chiselled jaw line. His zeros on his veiny arm now standing out proudly.
