(Y/n)'s POV:

"No way...Are you for real?" I stood on the drivers side of the car.Carl nodded. "Yeah! It'll be fun.I promise." I silently laughed,looking down at the floor and debating wether I acctualy wanted to try driving the car.
I guess it was either now or never.
"Okay,okay.." I smiled watching Carl happily jump into the front passenger seat.I slowly opened the door with a small smirk on my lips,I couldn't believe we were doing this.I threw my bag in the back along with the orange rucksack.

I sat in the drivers seat.Not gonna lie,I felt intimidated..By a seat.I hesitated before placing my hands on the wheel. "Uh,how do I start?" I looked at Carl.Waiting for his response. "Well,first of all you're holding the wheel wrong." Carl guided my hands to where they needed to be which was literally center meters away for where they were before.
"Now put your foot on that peddle down there." Carl pointed to one of the peddles by my foot.My main worry was that the peddles would've been too far away but I think I pretty much just made it.
"And there." I did as he said.

"What if instead of reversing I send us straight into that pillar?" I pointed to the rusty pillar in front of us. "I don't think we would die from that...Maybe just loose the car." Carl said quietly.
I shook my head,looking through the window again.
"Okay-How do I start the car?" I don't know why I was so flustered.It was just a car.I feel like the worst possible thing I could've done was send us into a river or something,which is still pretty bad. "You sure you want to do this? Your voice sounded pretty shaky just then." Carl narrowed his eyes at me.
"Yes I wanna do this." I replied.

"Okay,you turn on the engine by putting these keys in and twisting left until you feel the little click." Carl handed me a keychain with the car key on it.They keychain was a small picture of a group of college students,I think.Guys and Girls all had their arms around each other getting ready to take that picture.They had the happiest looks on themselves.I did as Carl instructed me to do.Once I did that the car engine turned on.
I took a deep breath in,exhaling.

(Let's just pretend she reversed out of that alleyway because I know Jack-shit about how to work cars🤨)

I stopped once we got to the middle of the street.I looked around for the map.
"It wasn't that hard,was it?" Carl handed me the folded map with this look on his face.I couldn't explain it but it was like that face when someone is proud of you.
"Yeah,yeah.I'm just trying not to blow the car up or locate any rivers." I nervously laughed,looking down at the map.
"We can't be sat her like this in the open.Anybody could be watching us." Carl took the map back from me and offered to make the directions. "Okay."

I slowly and carefully drove us out of the town.I stalled the car about more times than I've ever blinked.
But Carl didn't actually let me stop,he said he wasn't gonna let me give up until I knew at least something or got us out of the town.And I did.I got us halfway to Alexandria before I almost had a mental breakdown and then Carl decided to drive us back.I was sick of myself driving,that's why I had the hissy fit.It's hard trying to dodge Walkers.It's like playing chicken
