Chap 9

I stayed up all night making sure Mumei was alright. When it was morning I gently shook Mumei and woke her.

"Kronii?...you look....restless."

"Ah, that's bc I stayed up all night making sure you were ok."

"I told you not to do that!"

"Mumei, I wanted to make sure. Now come on, we need to leave soon.

I headed outside and started my motorcycle up. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. (A text from Kaela?)

[want to go to this cafe today at 6?]

{sure.} I closed my phone and sat on the motorcycle. I saw Mumei coming out and sat behind me.

"Mumei, put your arms around me." I grabbed Mumei's arms and wrapped them around me.

When we got there, Mumei immediately got off and went to the entrance but just stood there. I walked over there in confusion.

"Mumei, why aren't you opening the door?"

"I-I left my card at your place."

"I see. I'll bring it back to you later today." I grabbed my key card and then opened the door for Mumei.

Mumei quickly walked into my class as I then later followed.

"Alright. You guys have your second test today." I grabbed the papers and then looked at a student.

"You. Girl with pink hair."

"Me?"

"Yea, what's your name?"

"Calli"

"Ok Calli, pass these papers out please." I handed the paper over to the pink-haired girl. She looked at me weirdly and then started to pass them out. I looked at Mumei who seemed to be avoiding my face. Almost an hour had passed since the test began. I heard the creaking of the chair move which caught my attention. I looked up and saw Mumei handing her paper to me. I quickly skimmed through the answers and then smirked.

(I guess the lessons ended up helping a bit huh?) My phone buzzed on the table making some of my stuff move. I looked at it and saw a notification from Kaela again.

[Kronii, do you mind if I bring a friend along? Her name is Zeta.]

{that's fine} I closed my phone and leaned back on my chair.

"Kronii. I like you, but I know that you don't look at me that way, so can you at least try with me?"

"Kaela......I'm fine with that then. I'll give it 1 week, if I still don't feel the same, then I'm sorry."

I opened my eyes as I snapped out of that memory.

(1 week huh?......that's almost over Kaela.....I'm sorry but I don't feel the same.....) I looked near the back of the class where Mumei sat and saw her reading the book that I bought. I smiled a bit seeing her read it. But my smile faded when I remembered what I said to her yesterday.

(Mumei I hope you know that it's for the best that you don't date me.)

When the class ended everyone left and in came the new set of class. I passed out the tests and walked back to my desk. I opened the door and saw Kiara standing next to it.

"Ah, Kiara, you're an honor student so do you mind watching my class a bit till I'm back?"

"Eh? Sure!" I left the classroom as Kiara entered. I went outside and started up my motorcycle.

I went to my house and found Mumei's card then headed back to my motorcycle.

When I got back to my class I saw that everyone had already left. I looked at my phone and realized it was break time. I started to walk to the student dormitories and then stopped.

(What was her dorm number?....) I looked at her card.

(774) I walked around the building till I reached 774. I knocked on the door. The door opened slightly and out came Fauna as she then closed the door behind her.

"Miss Ouro? What are you doing here?"

"Oh, well I just wanted to give Mumei her card back since she left it behind."

"Thanks. I'll give it to her." Fauna put her hand on the doorknob and turned it.

"Ah, I was wondering if I could talk to Mumei about the test today."

"Um, I think it's best for you to not talk to her right now."

"Hm? Why?"

"She- she's not feeling well."

"How so?"

"She has a severe fever right now and I think it's best for you to not even enter the room."

(What?......but she looked fine today.)

"If you want I can tell her"

"It's fine, I'll just wait till she gets better then." Fauna entered the room and closed the door.
