Her phone began to ring again, and she rejected Gio's call. She didn't want to talk to him. The minute he had made love to her because that was what they had done, they had made love not fucked, was the minute his gentleman club days should have been over. She demanded respect from every member, and she expected him to do the same. She was his Boss and would always be his Boss. The fact that they had slept together had no bearing on where she stood with him. She knew who the hell she was, and she knew who the hell Gio was, and she had let her heart loose last night and it had been a mistake. A mistake she would not be making twice.

She looked out the window and sighed not really wanting to face twenty some women in the safehouse. She was tired and her body ached from the night before. All she wanted to do was go home and take a hot bath and sleep.

Her phone pinged letting her know that she had a message.

From: Gio

Message: pick up the fucking phone, Gia!

She ignored the message and deleted it. She wasn't ready to talk to him. Her mind was all jumbled up when it came to Gio.

Giuliana had taught her that men always covered for each other no matter what. She wanted to talk to Anthony, but he was close to Gio so that option was no good. She would have talked to Giuliana, but she was still out of the country on a well-deserved vacation, and she wasn't about to bother her.

She was on her own. She didn't have any girlfriends she could turn to because she had been homeschooled and she had gotten her MBA online thanks to all the connections her father had had.

Her only friend was Anthony, and she couldn't trust him with what was bothering her. Instead of focusing her attention on Gio, she decided to put her energy to good use. She dialed Jacob's number.

"Yes Boss," he answered on the second ring.

"I want to see you at the penthouse tonight at ten. Don't be late and bring all your gadgets."

"Sure thing. I have a lot to share with you."

"Good. I need good news. See you tonight." Gia hung up and her phone rang again. When she saw that it was Gio she tossed it to Gino. "I'm not available."

"Hello?" Gino answered on the fourth ring.

"Where the fuck is she, Gino?" Gio barked into the phone.

"Not available," Gino said.

"Put her on the fucking phone or I'll shoot you myself!"

Gia could hear Gio's screams, and she smiled enjoying the fact that he was upset.

"Yes, sir, I understand but she's still unavailable. Is there something wrong?"

"No, nothing's wrong. Keep her safe and bring her home in one piece. Also, tell her that Dante will be calling her to make an appointment to see her, tell her to blow him off. I don't want her seeing him."

"Yes, sir." Gino hung up and relayed the message.

Why didn't Gio want her seeing Dante? Was it on a personal level or an organization level? Until she knew why, she had to play it safe and not see Dante.

Something was going on and Gia needed to find out what it was. Corine showing up dead was a huge red flag. No one knew of Corine's whereabouts except Rachael, and she would never make the mistake of speaking more than she should. Had Corine turned on her Family? Had she gone to Dante with the hopes of selling the information she had, and it had all gone terribly wrong? How? How? How had Corine been found? How had Dante found her?
