A soft knock on the door frame brought Gia back from wherever her mind had wondered off to.

"I believe you are in need of a drink and perhaps a friendly ear to listen to you."

Gia looked up and saw the Funnel Cake man standing there smiling at her. She couldn't help but smile at him. He looked even better in dark jeans and a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. His raven hair was combed back neatly, and he looked very handsome.

"How did you get back here?" Gia stood up knowing that because the man that stood there caused her body to react didn't mean that her guard should be down.

"Ah... you mean how did I navigate past your rather alarming, oversized doorman?" he jested giving her a perfect smile.

Before she could speak, he walked inside the office and closed the door. She didn't miss the fact that he locked it as well making her red flags go up. She sat back down again and very subtly dropped her hand to the side of her chair where she had a gun. She felt the handle and gripped it leaving her hand there just in case she needed to pull it out.

"No need to reach for the gun. I'm unarmed, and I assure you I mean you no harm. Two weeks was simply too long to wait for our sit-down, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and drop in early."

Sit-down? The only sit-down she had scheduled was with Kade McBane. Unless the man that stood before her was sent by Calabrese, the sneaky rat, she thought.

"There are reasons why sit-downs are scheduled," Gia informed him, keeping her tone even not revealing anything. She was more than uneasy. She was trapped in her office with a man she had seen once which her body seemed to like more than she had thought. It was a step in the right direction.

"Aye, and I do apologize for taking the initiative like this. I assure you, I mean you no harm... My name is Kade McBane."

She tried to keep her jaw from coming unhinged. McBane was Funnel cake guy. He was the guy she had been considering phoning to see what might happen between them. It was no secret that Gia had found the man extremely appealing.

"So, Mr. McBane, what was so important that you couldn't wait for your appointment? Because I assume that your business must be life and death to pull the kind of stunt that you just did." As she finished speaking, the door to her office swung open and Trent and Gino stormed inside and aimed their guns at McBane's head and chest.

"Sorry Boss, there was quite a commotion out there," Gino apologized giving Kade a death glare.

"I heard." Gia felt much better now that her guards were with her.

Kade held his hands up in surrender, not wanting to risk a bullet that night. He had had enough bullets pulled out of him to want to go through something like that again.

"Trent, go make sure that Mr. McBane's men are well taken care of." Gia smiled at Trent and the man left the office leaving the door open.

"I truly am sorry for the dramatic entrance. It wasn't my intention to ruffle your men's feathers, though I can hardly blame them for being on high alert." Kade's smile was so sexy that Gia couldn't help but react to it.

She elegantly crossed her legs and sat there with a smile on her face. She liked how Kade made her feel... so far. Another step in the right direction.

"Boss, should I escort Mr. McBane out to his table? Or maybe a little trip out back would be called for after pulling the shit he did to get to you." Gino was angry. He hated making mistakes and thanks to the shithead sitting on Gia's couch he had looked like a complete incompetent moron. Had Kade wanted to harm Gia he would have had plenty of time do it and no one would have been able to stop him.
