CHAPTER 30

Kade had heard about Gia's fertility problems while he had been gathering information on her and other Families.

"I know that an heir is paramount to your Family—as it is to most—but my primary concern will always be ensuring my wife is happy, cherished, and cared for in every aspect of her life. I propose we try for a child over the next year... but should that prove difficult, we can discuss adoption if you so desire, or even a surrogate to carry our child. I know your challenge lies in ovulation, but if a doctor were to harvest your eggs alongside my sperm—"

Gia shot out of her chair and threw herself at Kade. His arms went around her body quickly pulling her to him as her mouth ravaged his hungrily. Their tongues moved in desperate sync as Kade took all of her in. Her sweet taste was enticing. He placed one hand on the nape of her neck and the other on the small of her back as he pulled her in closer to him. He slowly parted his legs and trapped her there. He wanted to rub his growing erection against her, but he didn't want to do something that would make her pull away. He was slowly losing the battle with his body. His desire for her was so great that he had to pull away before he took her right then and there.

"I haven't the faintest idea what prompted you to do that... but pray tell me what it was so I might repeat it." He grinned at her as he laid soft pecks on her lips, one after the other.

Gia realized that she stood between his legs and had her arms around his neck. She felt surprisingly comfortable there. "I believe that a union between our Families would be beneficial," she said, kissing the scar on his right cheek.

Kade couldn't help but smile at her action. Most women found his scar unappealing, but Gia kissed it and nuzzled her nose against it showing her acceptance of him...all of him. He just hoped that she wouldn't be put off too much when she saw his scarred chest and back.

"However, I want you to know that I will not accept any kind of betrayal from you. If you choose to be with me it will only be with me. No lap dances, no strip clubs unless you are there for business or with me." Gia found herself word vomiting at Kade. She didn't want to go through the pain that Gio had caused her ever again.

"I can assure you, my loyalty runs deeper than that of any hound." Kade kissed her forehead.

"I like hounds."

A loud knock at her door separated them. Gia sat in her chair and Kade moved to the couch once again. "Come in," Gia called out. Her door opened and Gino walked inside with an angry face.

"What is it?"

"Gio is here and refuses to leave. He said he wouldn't leave until you agreed to see him."

Kade looked at Gia's body and how it tensed up at the mention of the man. He had to be the one who had hurt her so severely. "Tell him Gia isn't available. And I take it you know who my captains are by now?"

Gino nodded his head.

"Have McDuff back you up while I get Gia out of here. I'm taking her home—meet us there the moment you've handled things on this end," Kade ordered Gino who turned to look at Gia for final confirmation.

She nodded her head and watched Gino leave her office. Kade walked over to her placing a possessive arm around her waist and pulling her close to him.

"Gather whatever you need. I'm getting you out of here." Kade's voice was calm, but Gia could hear the underlying concern for her, and she had to admit that she liked it. She liked it a lot.

Kade escorted her out the back way towards Trent who waited for her with the door open. Marco sat behind the wheel ready to take his Boss to safety. Kade helped Gia climb in the back earning a glare from Trent. When Kade climbed in the back seat with her Trent and Marco both looked at Gia for some kind of explanation.
