Observe and Learn.

Although Jessica doubted it. If one could simply observe and learn, would humans still need years of education to create a career that helps them pay the bills?

Nevertheless, she had to give it a try.

What other alternatives did she have anyway?

The next few days after their little relaxation time in the fields, Jessica followed Liam to the office and sat close by, to look and learn from his work. Once she did know what he was up to, being in his shoes, or even in hers, did not seem to scare her anymore.

He would skimmer through files, approving or disapproving them, decide whether or not to invest in a particular new project suggested by the employees, and go for a business dinner or two at times. Publicity remained one of his major objectives, and to promote a fixed time work culture in the company, as in, no employee had to leave later than the settled time, or check-in early.

On the other hand, it turned out Jessica's position of being the majority shareholder was nothing less than the goose that laid golden eggs. All she was subjected to, was a yearly meeting with the rest of the old men- which had not happened so far; and reaping the financial benefits of the business, of course.

She thought it was shameful. Even though she was now enjoying the perks of being an employer instead of being an employee- like she had always wanted- she still hoped to learn the basic managerial skills of the company.

And so she did.

Within a span of six months, Liam had managed to turn Moda & Co. into one of the fastest growing clothing businesses in the state, not singlehandedly, but with the help from the people of the organization who had worked as a team. During this time, he would also travel to other cities for his other companies and the commitments they demanded from him. Turns out, being a CEO or a business owner isn't all fun and games. It occupied a lot his day, and sometimes even night.

"I have a few ideas."

"Uh huh." Liam was engrossed in some paperwork as the car drove them both home. He still managed to look up at Jessica when she did not continue speaking, indicating she had his attention, albeit not a hundred percent.

Jessica looked outside the window and continued.

"It's about clothing."

"Yes, the entire company is about clothing Jessica." An amused Liam grinned and shook his head. "What about it?"

"I feel we can try launching a new line of clothing, for people specific at the extreme ends of the size spectrum."

Liam finally signed the papers and collected the entire bundle, placing it carefully in a file. The car pulled to their home.

"Let's talk inside."

Jessica nodded and followed him inside. Liam threw himself on the couch and unbuttoned his shirt, then gestured her to sit next to him. He tucked a strand of loose hair behind Jessica's ear, touching his forehead to hers. And that was how they stayed, for a few moments.

"You look especially pretty today, Jessica." He whispered. Jessica cupped his face and kissed him. She kissed his lips, his eyes, his nose, all over his face. So much was she in love with him.

"We had to talk." She reminded him as her hand unbuttoned the remaining buttons of his shirt, and a certain hook on his pants. Her hands roamed all over him as she slid down the annoying pieces of clothing away from his body.

"Yes." Liam was quick to take control and gently guided Jessica to the floor, carefully supporting her head with his hand to ensure she wasn't hurt. Then, he huffed in annoyance.
