Alicia's POV

I looked around the room I was in. The patient room walls were coming down on me. Everything was too white, too bright. The clock on the wall caught my attention. 4 P.M. The sky was starting to change into it's most fascinating colors.

What date was it today?

Earlier that day, when I woke up, my one and only savior -Liam as he had introduced himself earlier, was with me.

It wasn't long after that Julian barged into the room and hugged me tightly, refusing to let go after awhile. I'd never seen him cry before. My broken arm was pained from the sudden movements but I chose to ignore it then. Nothing was more important than Julian.

As Julian went to chase down some doctors to run some tests, Liam had kept me company. He had been pretty cheerful himself.

"I never thought the song would actually work." He told me. I nodded my head in mischief.

"You'd be surprised." I answered.

We conversed on light subjects. He looked like he couldn't wipe his smile off his face. It was cute and creepy at the same time.

I'd recognized Liam from a band in particular - a band I failed to remember. All I knew was that the band was formed in UK. Understanding from his thick accent, I wasn't mistaken at all.

"What I don't understand though-" Liam asked after a while. "is how the letter came to me. We're in different continents, how was that even possible?"

I propped myself up on the hospital bed, I'd gotten comfortable around Liam in such a short notice. I had yet to ask Julian about the sudden move. Another department I needed to investigate in.

"Well, since I couldn't call my house, because my parents had moved house, I needed to send out a letter for help and the only relative we -me and Julian have is our aunt that lives in London. I must've mixed up the addresses." Liam looked at me wierdly.

"Don't you have any other relatives in US?" I drained all emotions from my face.

"My father was an only child and my mother's only sibling was my aunt." Liam seemed pretty confused of all that came out of my mouth.

"I -Julian and I are orphans. We're living with out foster parents." Liam's face softened immediately and his eyes looked at me with sympathy.

"I don't need sympathy right now." I raised my hand to him. "I just really want to leave this hospital."

Julian walked in with a doctor at bay. "I'm afraid that's not possible. First we need to run some tests, make sure you're okay and only then can you leave." The doctor -Dr. Ramen it read on his name tag.

Great, I thought. How long had they been listening? Dr. Ramen looked at me.

"Oh, not to worry Ms. Starks. We just need blood samples, see how your motor skills are, and then check your blood pressure. We need to check your arm, too."

"Wow, that'll all be finished in no time." Sarcasm wasn't going to get me anywhere but from the corner of my eye, I could tell that he was amused. That's when Julian gave me the look saying shut-up. Before anything rolled off my tongue I decided to keep silent.

"I'm going to have to have you two out of the room." The look on both Liam and Julian's face showed me that they were having flashbacks to the last time I was alone in the room with a doctor.

I unawarely tensed up as well when I saw Julian's eyes go dark and Liam's jaw tick. Dr. Ramen must've noticed because he looked up and put his hands up, showing his doctor badge.

"Trust me, I'm a doctor. It's not the first time you've seen me in this hospital, Julian. Remember that."

With that, both of my practical heroes left. Dr. Ramen started with flashing a flashlight in my eye. He told me to follow the light.

"They both really love you, huh?" He asked. I tried to keep my concentration.

"Julian is my brother. He loves me to the ends of the world."

"And what about Liam?"

"What about Liam?" I thought about how happy he was when I woke up, about how his jaw tensed. Dr. Ramen just looked at me. He didn't say any more.

What about Liam?

--

Now at 5 P.M. 3 days later, Julian was supposed to pick me up from the hospital to take me home. Liam had gone back to his house and cleaned up even though I insisted it was unneccesary. Now, Liam was keeping me company, we were FaceTime'ing with Harry and Louis.

"But you love carrots. You gotta like carrots, Ali." Louis screeched into the phone. Harry was laughing in the background, probably at Louis' insistence of carrots. Or probably the look on my face. The shock of his screech hadn't worn off.

I looked at our reflection from Liam's phone. Liam was having the time of his life talking to some of his best friends back from his hometown. It was a relief seeing him smile. I believe he'd been through enough looking for me.

The door to the hospital room opened to reveal Julian. "I signed the release papers. We can go now."

I said my quick goodbye's and our nice-to-meet-you's as I got up to my feet.

At the entrance of the hospital, Liam held me back a few steps. He put his hand on mine.

"Please keep in touch. I'm just a phone away. " He added with a sincere smile on his face. I nodded my head before I felt Julian's hand on the small of my back. I looked up at his familiar face while he firmly shook Liam's hand. We parted ways not long after, me looking back at him one last time.
