HELLO INTERNET!!! GOOD TO BE BACK!!!
-------------------------
My world was spinning.
"Ali, it's going to be okay." Julian cooed at me as much as he could while driving. It didn't stop him to look back and forth between me and the windshield of the car. His disheveled hair blew from the wind he created from the speed he was going at. "We'll figure it out," He tried to hold my gaze, only I was locked straight ahead. "I promise."
Having such a strict family, I was never allowed to have any friends. I did keep some up my sleeve being the rebelish goody two shoes that I was. One of them was Skylar Evans. Skylar was my best friend in the entire world. She had been worried sick throughout my time in the unknown and it had taken her all but not call my foster parents. Julian was never off limits, of course. The way she blew up his phone, our parents had gathered the thought Julian was dating someone. Her efforts had paid off, respectively. Eventually I was back home. We needed to get together, which meant one thing.
Shopping.
"I seriously wonder if you've actually broken your arm or you faked it. How in the world can you carry that many bags?" I looked down at what I had in store. It was true. By now, I had about 27 shopping bags all in all different colors in my hands, up my arms, down to my very finger tips. I afforded a shrug and went along.
"You're the one talking. Who buys both when you are torn between two?" Skylar gave me a winning smile. Her sun kissed blonde hair on her pretty head was falling perfectly around her face. Oh how I missed creating disasters out of her hair. Her red eyes were almost better.
The whole day had gone by with me telling her about my 'wondrous adventures' while she tried and failed to choke back sobs.
" I should've convinced you to stay over at my place that night. I should've done something. I'm so sorry, Al." She pulled me in a big hug and cried a river on my shoulder.
Truth be told, I did miss her hugs. I missed her everything. She was everything to me. Thank the Lord for Skylar Evans.
Skylar had gone crazy when I told her about Liam. She already started creating scenarios in her psychological-help-needed brain.
"He's like your prince in shining armor. This is so wonderful, you're going to have beautiful, beautiful babies!" I rolled my eyes before laughing at her dreamscape. Only Skylar would imagine such unrealistic things.
"Shut up, I'm so not seeing again. He's leaving for UK tomorrow." Skylar had a glint in her eyes.
"Feeling a little down there, aren't you sweetheart?" She winked. I pushed her shoulder as she laughed.
"There's no way." I kept saying to her. "No way in hell."
----------------
It was a little before 8 PM when I made it home. "I'm back!" I yelled. Running up the stairs, I put my shopping bags in my room and started changing immediately. As I walked out of my closet, a picture caught my eye.
Lucky.
I looked up confused. I hadn't seen him at all. At all. Not even the tingest sound of his meowing, purring or hissing.
"Lucky!" I called out countless times as I walked down the steps in hurrying motion, I found myself in the living room where Brenda and John were.
"Lucky?" I breathed as my calls came to an end. Mother threw her head back, suppressing a grunt.
"Shut up, will you?" She squeezed her eyelids shut. " I never liked that thing, he always tore up my sofas." My eyes landed on her cup. Scotch in hand. She's drunk again.
