Chapter 12

My hand shakily turns the doorknob of my apartment. As I open it I see Hailee pacing up and down the hallway, tears at the brim of her eyes.

When the sound of the door opening reaches her ears she stops, slowly turning around and facing me. I close the door and instantly she speaks.

"What the fuck?" She asks her voice cracking. She didn't shout but the hurt in her voice indicated that she wanted to

"Hailee, it's not--"

"Not what it looks like?! Save it Y/n!" Her voice increases thick with unreleased anger

"Hailee it's really not what it looks like!" I shout placing my keys down before walking closer to her "Just please, please let me explain" I reach for her hands but she pulls them away quickly, shaking her head

"Don't touch me" she warns looking in my eyes, tears rolling down her cheek "How could you? We've only been dating a week and you cheat?!"

"I didn't cheat!" I exclaim running a hand through my hair "Just hear me out please"

"How are you gonna explain being in a bathroom with you ex girlfriend?!" She shouts shaking her head in disbelief

"I-I went in there to break it of with her--"

"Break it off? Break what off?! You are already broken up!" She shouts throwing hands in the air in disbelief

"We--we hooked up before, before we dated" I signal in between us. Hailee turns her head towards me anger and confusion evident on her face "and-and I wanted to tell her that we are never gonna happen again" I take a deep breath "but she did that to anger you...she hates that I'm happy with you..she wants to see me in pain and the quickest way to do that was to make you believe I'm cheating on you" I step closer to Hailee, taking her hands in mine which she allows me to

"Please believe me Haiz" My eyes meet hers. I let a tear slip down as thoughts of losing her cross my mind "please Hailee"

"I-I need a day Y/n" She says, leaning over and pressing a kiss on my forehead and squeezing my hands "I'm sorry" She says taking her phone and car keys

"Hailee wait! Please stay" I plead watching her open the door

"I'll be back my love...I just need some space" she smiles a tear slipping down her cheek. She slips out of the door and closes it gently.

"Fuck!" I shout anger rising in my senses. "I'm gonna fucking kill her" I murmur walking over to my phone

As I glance at the screen I notice a message form Sadie on the screen.

Sadie
She's gonna hurt you Y/n. I know she will and you are gonna come crawling back to me. I know you.

Fuck you Sadie! We are done I meant what I said today

I turn my phone off exhaling a deep breath I ddin't even know I was holding.

I look around the apartment not knowing what to do. My gaze circles around as I knock on the door interrupts my thoughts.

With a confused look I open the door seeing a familiar face of my best friend standing there she flashes me a smile as I step aside letting her in.

"I saw Hailee leave" She says "What happened?"

"We fought. And she apparently needs some time" I explain, closing the door and leaning my back against it

"Why did you fight?" Emma asks

"Sadie...." I say

"Oh for you running into her?" Emma asks confusion of her face

I take a deep breath explaining everything in as much detail to my best friend. She nods her head the whole way through carefully following my words.

"I can't believe she did that" Emma says scoffing

"Yeah I'm not surprised to be honest" I say throwing my head back against the door staring up at the ceiling

"Why does she hate you so much anyway?"

"Well I broke up with her. And she didn't want to break up so yeah." I say "oh and her and Hailee dated so I don--"

"Wait what?!" The blonde interrupts me

"Yeah they dated, so I don't think she really likes that Hailee and I are dating" I look at Emma seeing a subtle smile ln her face "why are you smiling?" I ask confused

"Nothing" she laughs quietly looking at the floor

"Emma" I warn

"I'm just thinking that--at one point or another you, Hailee and Sadie were inside each other..." She laughs, my eyes widen at her statement before I laugh as well, looking down

"Who was better Sadie or Hailee? Cus like I feel like they are booth good with their fingers so I th--"

"Okay that's enough" I laugh and Emma stops talking but laughs still escaping her lips
