Charlotte McCain and her older brother Neal have grown up down the road from the Torettos since they were little. Charlotte and Neal first met Dominic and Mia Toretto when their father picked them up from a babysitter living four blocks down. Dominic had been helping his father, Jack, on the car in the garage with Mia playing with her doll in the backyard, when they heard a fanbelt break off the old Ford 66 Mustang.

Both kids hopped out of their father's car as he parked outside the two-story white house to help. The three of them bonded over vehicles. It's what made them all close. As the father and his kids popped the hood to the Muscle car, Dominic and his father walked over, asking if they needed help.

That was the beginning of an incredible family bond. Both fathers soon became friends, and so did their kids. Dominic, Lotty, and Neal bonded over their passion for cars. Mia and Lottie bonded over Music and movies as both the boys bonded over Music and girls. Jack even got Devon, Lottie's and Neal's father, a job at the track he worked at to help him. Being a single father of two took a toll on him. He just wanted to give his kids everything he never had. No matter the expenses. They weren't rich, but that never mattered to Charlotte or Neal. All that mattered to them was their family. That was something Devon was always so proud of them about

In third grade, they met Vence; then, they met Letty shortly after. They all grew up together, getting into trouble that teenagers would get into. They were sneaking out. Parting. Racing. Devon would yell till he was blue in the face at Lotte and Neal after both came home drunker than a skunk. But would then apologize the following day with coffee and breakfast. Knowing he, too, was once a teenager. He couldn't help but worry about the only thing that mattered to him—his kids. He couldn't help but worry about his kids growing up faster than he could handle.

When Lottie turned sixteen, her brother and Domitian had just turned seventeen. Many things changed for the McCain children. Neal fell for Letty, who had also just turned sixteen two weeks before Lottie, and was chasing her around, empressing her whenever he got the chance. On the other hand, Lottie got her license, even knowing she drove regardless of the plastic card that cost her $40. Her body had filled out in all the right spots that had all the guys at school painting like a dog. And she had started dating. Lotty had never expressed an interest in guys other than Dominic. He had always made the girl feel tingly with a touch of a hand or warm just by the sound of his voice. But she was losing faith that Dominic liked her in that way. So one day, Letty had set her up with a boy from the street over to see how he would react to her going out with someone.

It was no secret to Letty or Neal that Dom liked the brunette. He wouldn't admit it out loud. He would hold her when she was cold, sad, upset, or angry at the world. Their action spoke louder than their words ever did. When she came over, she and Dom would lay on the couch and watch movies until they passed out and wake up with a blanket over them as they cuddled each other.

When Dominic caught wind of the date, he threatened the kid that if he so much as said the wrong words to Lottie, Dominic would make him regret it.

That scared the boy off, and he stood Lottie up at the pizza place they would have their date at. This, in turn, pissed her off after discovering what happened. She stormed to the Toretto's house, finding her brother and Dom working in the garage with Vince on the engine of his father's car. Hearing her heeled boots, Vince and Neal looked up, seeing Lottie dressed for her date. High-waisted black ripped jeans, black heeled boots, and a black crop top with AC/DC printed across it showing off the little bit of her stomach. Dom had looked over after Neal laughed, seeing what Vince and Neal were looking at, who stormed towards them. Not wanting to be in the wrath of Charlott's rage, Vince went inside with Neal hot on his tail, not before they heard a loud smack that caused both teenage boys to laugh like school girls.

Lottie had yelled at Dominic, hitting him in the chest as she backed him into the car's hood. Her face was red with rage. Dominic said nothing as she let out her hurt and anger on him. After she had calmed down and turned, walking away from Dom, he strode after her, pulled her back, and turned her around to him, kissing her before she could chastise him. After the heated, passionate kiss ended, it explained everything that needed to be said but couldn't be.
