N:   In the stables, Ivor was keeping an eye on Sleipnir while the steed was healing, making sure that he got all the care that he could get. BE was there too, asking the blacksmith about what happened and if he might know of any similar sellers.

"Are you going to arrest me if I told you that I knew," the blacksmith asked.

"No I won't," the empire shook his head, also watching over the horse, "I would expect someone with your job to know, and if anything it helps me to arrest anyone else."

The blacksmith nodded as he quickly gave the empire a list, to which the other nodded and walked away, greeting Esha on his way out.

M:   Esha waved hello back, she then immediately went over to Sleipnir's pen, though she did stop to chat with Ivor.

"I know I look a lot different than we first met," she said tiredly, "it's been a rough few days and this is sometimes what happens when an eternal breaks down."

She opened up the stall and sat down with her steed, who didn't seem very shocked by this change in his friend. "So how has he been, I hope he hasn't been giving you a hard time," she chuckled ruefully.

N:   "No more than an injured horse can, miss," Ivor smiled as he leaned against the stall gate, "honestly, he has been well-behaved, although he has been a bit hesitant with the medics, he's been fine."

M:   "That's a new one, you sure have become docile while we've been here," Esha said to Sleipnir, "or have they been giving you lots of treats while I haven't been around, are they spoiling you, buddy?"

Sleipnir nickered teasingly and butt his nose against her head, earning more chuckles, "I guess that's a yes then, I'm glad you're in such good hands, hopefully, you'll be able to see your mate and cubs soon."

The sigven whined at that and lay his head down, he clearly missed his family, he just wanted to see them again.

"You'll see them soon, it's just too cold to bring the cubs out here to visit you," Esha explained, "don't you worry, they haven't forgotten about you either."

"Say, I saw you give BE a list earlier, what exactly was on it," she asked, "I'm not gonna slaughter anyone, I couldn't even wrangle a wampus cat like this."

N:   Ivor sighed, "it was a list of places that sold horses illegally, and even a few of them were partnered up with some underground slaughterhouses"

Rubbing the back of his neck, he continued, "I always kept a list in case BE would like to know, but it is also places where I could free some horses, whether I break them out or buy them. Some of the wonderful steeds around you came from previous abusive owners that I've bought off. With the position I have, I tend to find these places, but they are hard to come by, so once I find one, I exhaust them of their resources before ratting them out.

"And before you say anything about how I'm letting all those horses suffer, understand that I feel terrible doing this but I know that for every illegal place I report, three more places will open up."

M:   "I wasn't going to say that at all, you're doing what you can to help them," Esha said, "I know that no matter how hard you try you can't save everyone, and for those you do save it can take a while to do it. I understand that if you tried to shut down these places the moment you discovered them, these people would probably come after you, the only way you can fight this battle is slow and methodical."
