I sat silently, watching the mother and son. Gladz was feeding her child, Luca, while they chatted and laughed happily together. The sight reminded me of my own mom and dad, and I couldn't help but hope that they were doing well wherever they were, now that I was no longer in my original world.
I would never bother searching for someone who believed in reincarnation—they would surely just think I had lost my mind.
Besides, someone like me wasn't meant to be alive anymore. Back then, I would never have chosen to keep living in that toxic world with my toxic life.
Geez! Lunar, are you out of your mind? Look at where you are now—do you honestly believe this place isn't toxic too?
I subtly shook my head to clear my thoughts before picking up a grape and eating it.
"Milady, I've finished taking care of everything here at the hospital. Do you have any further orders?" I turned to see Fhiana, who had just returned. I had sent her earlier to handle all the necessary arrangements regarding Luca's stay and treatment.
"That's all. Just sit there and let's wait for them to finish." I replied.
She glanced at the empty chair beside me, walked over, and sat down quietly. "Milady, are you alright?"
I frowned and looked at her, before shifting my gaze back to Gladz and her son. "Yes, why?"
She let out a soft sigh before speaking again. "Milady... ever since I left and came back, your attention has been completely focused on them."
"So what?" I retorted. Was there something wrong with looking at the two people right in front of us? It wasn't as if I could kill them just by staring, right?
"Milady, I was just thinking that perhaps you're feeling envious—" I didn't let her finish. My blood began to boil instantly. Damn it! This woman really assumed too much, twisting even my simplest actions into something else.
Can you believe it? I was just watching them, and she immediately concluded I was jealous! Aiya! I realized then that I needed to be careful not just with the men in this life, but with this woman as well.
Honestly... kaunti nalang ibabalik ko na sya sa lolo ni Livinghell
"Shut up." I snapped at her, thoroughly annoyed. Damn it. She really shouldn't test my patience—especially since I had zero patience to begin with. Wait, why was I even mentioning patience? It wasn't something I possessed at all.
"Well, Milady, I was just asking" She defended herself.
I looked at her with pure irritation, which made her quickly avert her eyes. Oh, so now that I'm glaring at her, she decides to stare at the ceiling instead?
"I said... shut up." She immediately clamped her mouth shut and fell silent. Just then, Gladz suddenly approached us. What now? Did they finish already?
"Ahm... Milady, I'm done feeding my child" She said softly.
I let out a long, bored sigh and glanced at the little boy, who was now looking at me with an awkward expression.
"Then... let's go. We need to leave now. You'll have you leave him here again under Fhiana's care for a while." I told her. She nodded slowly, her hand gently caressing her son's face.
