When I arrived at the address he gave, I parked the car and stepped out right away. It was a beautifully designed grand building—one I guessed was already becoming one of the most popular spots in the country.
I walked through the entrance, and my eyes quickly found Rune. He was sitting on a long sofa, glancing back and forth between his phone and his watch. Since he still hadn't noticed me, I walked over to where he was.
He must have sensed someone standing beside him, because he turned to look with a blank expression—then immediately stood up straight when he recognized me.
"Atenea!" I flinched at how loud his voice was, drawing even more stares from everyone around us.
"Lower your voice, young master." I warned quietly. I was already annoyed enough by people staring, and my period made my patience even shorter than usual.
"My bad, milady. By the way... shall we?" He gave me a sweet smile and offered his arm. I took it, letting him lead the way since he was the one who had planned everything.
"How are you, Atenea?" He asked as soon as we stepped into the elevator.
"You can see for yourself—I'm still alive, so I'm fine." I replied sarcastically. He just shook his head and laughed softly.
"Every time I ask how you are, that's always your answer. Are you mad at me?" He asked, sounding amused, like he was only joking.
I wanted to tell him Yes. Hindi lang sama ng loob, kundi matinding galit. But I knew it would only start a fight too soon—one I wouldn't survive in this world. I couldn't take that risk, not when my plans weren't even close to done.
"My apologies... I'm just not used to people asking how I am." Was all I said, ignoring the eyes following our every step.
I knew for sure that by the time I got home, photos of us together would be everywhere—and we'd be trending all over again.
"That makes me sad to hear. Don't worry... I'll ask you every single day from now on." He said with a grin and a wink. I just furrowed my brow.
Damn it. Don't tell me even this character's story has changed... tapos sya na pala ang sisira sa amin ni Vage? Yikes! Kilabutan ka nga Lunar.
The elevator doors opened, and we stepped out into a large private room that had clearly been prepared with great care. In the center stood an elegant table piled high with food.
Oh no... why does this feel so wrong? I know this was supposed to just be a hangout, but I agreed to come out with him... this isn't cheating, right? Tangina, Lunar... why did you even say yes?
I only wanted to get on their good side... but why does it feel like I'm crossing a line? No. Never. I swear this is the last time. This will never happen again, I promise.
'God, please... I am loyal to my husband!'
I forced a smile as I sat down, my mind racing. I'd lost my appetite thinking that this could be seen as cheating—that going out alone with another man was already betraying Vage.
'Oh god... I swear I'm innocent.'
He was about to speak again when the door suddenly swung open, and the rest of the men walked in. I almost wanted to thank the heavens.
